  1. He really impressed today, chasing everything down, added a different dimension to our attacking options. His way of playing seemed to suit two of our attacking midfielders, with Baker benefiting from the space and grabbing two goals. He pulled up with a bit of cramp which is why he got subbed, got a great reception from our fans though as he walked around past the cheadle end, got clapped the whole way round as he limped until he went down the tunnel! In his interview after the game he said he thinks he's been given permission by Oldham to play in the FA Cup next weekend.
  2. I don't think Davies will have necessarily fallen out with Sheridan, I believe we've been interested in Davies for sometime. I remember a couple of weeks before the league game against you the reserves had a game and Davies scored a hatrick in the first half when you went 5-0 up!! Some of our fans said after this game that he was just the type of striker we need at the moment and couldn't understand why he wasn't in your first team. On that basis, I think it's likely Gannon has enquired about taking Davies rather than Sheridan touting his name to get rid of him.
  3. That's what I'd say about his time at Stockport, not likely to stand out as a MOM, bit of a steady eddie! Doesn't make many mistakes and puts in 100% effort, so well liked. Will probably come unstuck against someone of Hughes ability, which I guess is why Mr Gannon decided he wasn't going to carry us further forward. Not a bad player for Yeovil though, can see him doing a job there.
  4. Think Gareth's doing alright down at Yeovil, they've kept 2 clean sheets in the last two games anyway, undefeated in three. He was a very good player for Stockport and don't think Saturday will be a walk in the palk for you lot. I personally feel he should still be here at Stockport, but that's football, and when you fall out with the manager, you're heading one way and thats to the exit door! What sort of reception do you expect him to receive? Good/bad/mixed/none?
  5. Haven't posted on here yet, and might not get the best response after friday, but wanted to post my views on this, after reading the board for a while! I think it really depends on the partner as to whether it's better or not! Speaking as a female, and a Stockport fan, I've had boyfriends who followed city/united or had no real interest in football and brought them along and have to say, I much prefered going without them. They would moan, say comments that would just annoy me because they just don't understand what it's like to be a hardcore football fan. Think it's easier if the partner is as dedicated as you. I've also been out with a fellow Stockport fan, who went to alot of games, although not as many as myself, (I haven't missed a game for a few years, sad like that :-P) and it had it's highs and lows. The highs were obviously sharing a passion which can bring you closer, mixing friends and enjoying a nice day on the beer socialising. Lows such as both being in foul moods after defeats, arguments over team selections and worst of all, his jealously of players 'looking' at me, although I think the last was more of a insecurity in him than a problem with attending games with partners! I do think it can be really enjoyable to attend with a partner, so in an ideal world, you either want you're partner to be understanding that your first love is your football club and thats where you will be on saturdays, so yes that does mean you might not be back in time for bla blas party, or a certain meal, but thats tough, cos football comes first. Whether thats by them letting you get on with doing your thing or by coming with you and being as dedicated, either way is what we all want I guess! All the best for the rest of the season, except for that game at your place in January 09 ;-)
