  1. Yeah, that was sorted in 24 hours, the papers have been signed off by the administrator and are with the FL to rubber stamp. They'll be a press conference next week I suspect.
  2. Thrown into turmoil !!!! What a load of made up sh1te.
  3. Ooooops. Damn links. The post below it on that thread actually which names a source (how accurate I have no idea) stating Gannon was not interviewed and listing those who were.
  4. You lot might be interested in this. !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. You may well be right LC. Funny thing with GA is that he's still in a job at the moment, but his last interview before he went on hol last week was virtually a goodbye note. Even though he was sold a dud by that ****** Melrose we've been pretty woeful this year, which looking at the league table is hardly surprising news. He's a goner for sure, it's just a question of who is replacing him.
  6. He'd either be truthful or deliberately evasive. Jim Gannon is not Iain Dowie.
  7. No idea really. The 2015 group have said they are 'well financed' but have said they won't go into specifics until we are officially out of admin.
  8. It was less then three weeks ago and we were never going to be taken over from that point in less time than that. We've arranged a press conference for Friday which should see us out of admin. So if he has been offered your job he'll have a choice to make soon.
  9. It's official he's been for an interview then ? Did the OAFC website tell us all that ? Or just rumours on here ?
  10. Maybe it is, but I'll tell you this for a FACT. After our last game of the season one James Gannon popped up outside the doors of the Armoury public house which is a well known haunt for County fans post match. A number of County fans (myself included) went outside to speak to him. One fan raised a question as to whether he was going to be Oldham's next manager. I won't tell you the response as I wouldn't want you to be against him from the off if he did turn up to be your next gaffer, save to say that there was an f word involved and there was little doubt as to his feelings on that subject. When the inevitable question came about County, he raised his eyebrows, smiled and said "couldn't say". He could have been lying of course to keep us all on side but the thing with Jim is, he doesn't really do lies, in fact quite the opposite; which is often to his detriment.
  11. Did the accounts ? Are you having a laugh ? What did Paul Cheetham do then ? Gannon is a qualified accountant but he did not do the accounts. Indeed he was very much out of the loop with regard to finances. He did put together a rescue plan when it became clear we were in the brown sticky stuff and he would have pulled it off if the rug hadn't been pulled from under our feet at the last minute. Pro trust in principle, yes, but he was very scathing of the set up towards the end and rightly so. He'll tell home truths no doubt and he'll always do what he thinks is right no matter who he upsets, hence his premature demise at Motherwell and Peterborough. TBH, there's only one club that would tolerate that side of him for long and hopefully he'll be employed by them again soon.
  12. Bumped into a County old boy yesterday who may or may not have played for you lot in the past and is still in touch with one or two at BP. He told me the three being interviewed this week are Frankie Bunn, Lee Richardson and Mark Crossley. Make of that what you will.
  13. Hello there boys and girls, long time no speak. Disappointed you escaped relegation, I was looking forward to a bumper NW L2 next season. Ah well...... Re: Gannon. Very likely to be back at County. The only possible stumbling block would be the pounds and pence.
  14. I thought we certainly matched you for that first 60-70 mins. We played as much decent football as you and created about as much as you (one chance each by that stage I think). Thereafter, yes, held on. Just.
  15. Well we're fitting square pegs into round holes at the moment. Our midfield is so young and inexperienced we almost have to play 5 in there to keep us solid. Sadly it leaves Thompson badly isolated upfront, he's no target man as you saw today. With 3 or more decent bodies in we'll do OK I reckon.
  16. FWIW I thought we matched you comfortably for 70 minutes but as one would expect from a team of kids we faded badly in that last twenty and you could easily have nicked it as we went to pieces a bit at that stage.
  17. Sadly, you're not the only ones on a collision course with a souless bowl. I think however both our club and yours have decided it's the only way forward. I'm sad to say they are probably right.
  18. I actually had the pleasure of coaching Jim when he was 15/16 in local junior football here in Stockport. Indeed it was from my team which he joined County. Not long after (he barely played half a dozen reserve games IIRC) he made his debut, as a substitute in the Championship, against Norwich City, after Andy Dibble was sent off about 10 minutes in. Jim always had massive potential, and started off like a house on fire, with a number of superb performances, culminating in winning our player of the year award in his first (or second) season. Sadly, County were to embark on their dark days of relegation under any number of idiotic managers who saw fit to persist with a young boy in the most precarious position of all and who failed to take him out of the firing line and develop him properly. After a number of pretty horrible high profile errors his confidence was shot and he was eventually released. Not too sure how he did at Dale (although punching rather than catching seems to be an issue he can't shake off) but he went to Chester at the back end of last year on loan and did pretty well IIRC. Brought along properly he could have gone far, maybe he still will if he's sitting in reserve for you guys and working with a decent goalkeeping coach. Having said that, I doubt he'd realistically be challenging for No1 this season at least.
  19. We had Feeney at County for 18 months or so after pinching him from Bournmouth. Back then he was a completely wholehearted player with pace to burn. Will not be a consistent 20 goal a season man though. He's not that good a finisher in all honesty.
  20. Yep, Ablett has been confirmed. An interesting one this, which it's difficult to have an initial 'feel' for.
  21. I'm sure you are all desperate to know that County's CVA with creditors was agreed this morning. As such there shouldn't be any points deduction for next season.
  22. That's about the long and short of it, except you have to come out of admin by a certain date with an agreement with your creditors for payment (CVA) to avoid the points deduction.
  23. Wheeeeeeeeeyyyyyy hhhhhhhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
  24. Still wrong though. We've been fighting off admin for months. The cheques were not cashed to protect the supporters who may well have been screwed if we did. I in fact have much more to go on than the club's public comments. I would not suggest that the statement provided was 'fact' unless I know that it was.
