  1. Forget the identikit soul-less new grounds, going old-skool : York City - anyone there for that amazing game in the 70's will never forget ! Chesterfield Saltergate - :censored:hole but so many memories of great booze-ups and packed in on the open end behind the goal Wrexham - another relic of a ground but many a great away day in North Wales Hudders - from some great days at the new ground back to some hazy memories of packing out the side at Leeds Road back in the day Bratfurt - another good away day with several memeroble performances over the years Trannies old Cowshed also was 'interesting' for away fans before the all-seaters kicked in ! Have been to all the premier:censored:e grounds too but overall although they have all mod cons they lack the atmosphere and reality of the lower league grounds.
  2. Iwelumo - lead in his boots - refused to jump for ball or move into space v Everton time and time again, made life so easy for Distin it was unreal until Matty Smith came on and showed what a bit of effort can do. Big Chris past his best but lack of effort unforgiveable. Shouldnt have been given shirt over Smith. Donkey absoloutly but should never have been picked in first place.
  3. Dean Crowe and Wayne Gill - two of the most unlikely professional footballers ever - total garbage Graham Sharpe - shyte as centre foward - lazy and over-rated altho scored a few goals but should have finished the Scum at Wemberley when easier to score at 1-0 up... the rest is history ! Bruce Grobbellar - wtf were we doing taking that joker on ?? Killer a total joke also - turning circle of an oil tanker Budz - my gran would have done better and shes been dead 20 years !!
  4. Ha ha ha !! Nothing wrong with a bit of swearing in context on a football message board but for grossly offensive and totally unnecessary foul language there is no excuse, especially when it comes from those who have volunteered to moderate the site !! And I am fully aware that no-one gets paid, but dont use this as a justification that vile language is always acceptable when it suits. A genuine thank you to those who make this site run, that is appreciated by everybody, but abusing that privilege is unacceptable. Carry on with disgraceful gutter language Ackey and others, you are just showing how immature and self-important you really are FFS !
  5. I'm with Bryn2424 on this one - rarely post these day but sick to back teeth of seeing post locked, merged etc. No need except to show that someone has the 'power' to do it. Dosnt happen on other clubs forums except when post are totally unacceptable. Also some deleted etc if not football related but a significant number of regular posters get away with posting total shyte on a regular basis and seem immune to the mod stormtroopers as obviously their face fits. keep it up geeky mods, it must be great having such an important job eh ? FFS
  6. shouldnt worry too much - think everyone who wants one should be able to - but could do STs first and then stubs from Everton game as voucher ? will reward those who didnt take soft TV armchair stand option. It does actually say on ticket ' please retain for future reference' !! so this could be an easy one to sort.
  7. get it sorted John - just about sobered up from 2008 trip ! happy days !! Hope you can put coach on again !
  8. Dont forget Mr Smith though - f*****g awesome the way he powered that header in considering all the carnage and rucking in the penalty area, with Liverpool and tonight all merseyside are scared :censored:less of him - old fashioned centre foward wreaking havoc against premer:censored:e megabucks soft arsed defenders. bring on the replay - we can do em again bigtime !
  9. Standing all game - singing non-stop, get innnnnnnnnn !!!!!!!! F***king get in !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Matt Smith take a bow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Would have been sold out days ago if not on TV Temptation of a few cheap cans of ale from supermarket and plotted up in front of TV too easy for lapsed fans especially when money is tight Still think Sat morning sales with local ID a good shout for those who couldnt get out of work this week though.
  11. 800 tickets still left ? Thats a shortfall of £20 grand @£25 per ticket We need all cash we can get - hope all those waivering or not had chance to get to BP sort it today or tomorrow. Dont want a load of empty seats spoiling the atmosphere !
  12. you can get as many tickets as you want mate, just ask for em ! Dont need vouchers just pictures of the queen !
  13. Dont think anyone needs to worry about the answers to any Oldham related trivia, just got back from getting tickets : no one else in sight - Sheepfoot lane deserted Me : ' I'm not a season ticket holder but I cant get down here tomorrow' Girl in ticket office ' Thats ok, how many tickets do you want ?' me ' two for Rochdale rd end please' Girl in ticket office : '£50 please'. No quiz, no proof of address, no postcode, no checking of database, no asking for my name or details Like buying sweets from corner shop - wonder how many Everton fans might have got tickets so easily ? Anyway, onwards n upwards, roll on satday !!!!!
  14. I hope the club do something to prevent Everton fans getting home end tickets - Everton have a much worse reputation for bad behaviour at many grounds - a lot of northern clubs have additional security measures when a handful of clubs come to their towns and Everton is one of them. Theres a world of difference IMHO between a few Liverpool fans for a 4pm Sunday kick off and Everton fans for a 6pm saturday kick off when many will have been on the lash all day. It should be easy to identify scousers simply by their accents. I remember a few years ago having a real problem when trying to get into Blackpool home end without a ticket - got loads of questions about postcodes etc. Only 1 of our group got in but within 20 mins the stewards had evicted him for not celebrating a Blackpool goal ! Hope they refuse Everton fans tickets or eject them from the ground if they are identified as Everton otherwise it could turn a bit tasty !
  15. At getting large section of RRE - they think its a decent and fair allocation. No mention of any raiding parties descending on BP for vouchers but I fully expect a few wayward locals who misguidely support Liverpool to drop by on Sat to get vouchers. Put 'RAWK' into google (Red and White Kop, bindippers fans forum) and type 'Oldham Tickets' into search bar and put date 0 to 10 days or else you get a lot of posts on lasts years third round tie, and you can follow their opinions on tickets plus all their twisted rantings on other issues - theres even an Oldhamer postin on there FFs !
  16. Season ticket holders obviously should get first dibs, no arguement at all, but only 1 ticket. Why should they get any more ? - last year at Anfield I spoke to a group of redsox fans in the bar at half-time and they had all got extra tickets from ST holders and 'gone for a piss up and to wind Liverpool fans up'. To me this is a big issue - it means non-Latics fans get easy access to tickets because they know a ST holder and ordinary non-ST holders have to take their chance in the queue. One ticket per ST and then free for all seems fairest way to me - get up early and take your chance in the queue should keep the redsox brigade at bay.
  17. Have lost the faith since Mr (Bad) Penny but memories of Hendnesford, Chasetown, Burton in the replay (mini shez won it on pens ?) and back in the day Formby away (who from old skool remembers that one ?) has reignited a spark. Will be on early train from Picadilly - not sure about connections yet though. Hope will get back into the mix as once you stop going you very easily find other things to do on a sat afternoon. A good day out and may be back as a regular ??? who knows ? good day out and good result and its game on......
  18. been on to a lot of old school Latics fans tonight - some lapsed, other occasionals, some cant go to many games for financial reasons etc and vast majority havnt got Liverpool tkts altho a few have. it seems to me that we could easily shift a great deal more tickets if we got any of the Anfield Rd upper - does anyone know if this section is available to Liverpool fans yet or is it not yet allocated ? I'm sure if we were given half of it we would have no problem shifting another thousand or 2 without any problems - many others were at work today or could only spare couple of hours so didnt get tickets. Would prefer to be with latics fans but if not then corner of Centenary stand will be next bes, t in amongst the scallies ! Hope we get those extras tho !!!
  19. yep - tried to get some tickets for Centenary stand earlier when OAFC sold out but online option finished last night - dont think this is anything to do with extra allocation tho. Think you can still get tickets by phone . Hope am wrong tho and extra allocation is available but doubt this is the reason. Will phone up 2moro but hope OL postcode dosnt prevent me getting them !
  20. as unsuccessful in queue today tried to get tickets in Centenary Stand on Liverpool website but online sales closed yesterday - anyone else thinking of dipping into this section ? - would be good to know a few other Latics around. Will try on phone tomorrow - unless anyone here has a couple of spare tickets they picked up today !! - if so PM me and you'll get a good price !!
  21. fair post but i know a fair few who got extra tickets have got them for non-Latics fans who just going along for the ride - if they could only buy 2 this wouldnt have happened - I know of people asking over phone to mates who wanted tickets as they were queing and got extras for them. Just hope somehow Liverpool find extra allocation as seems unlikely will be a full house for them so it would be in their own interests to give OAFC more.
  22. me too underestimated queues today - got there just after 9am - cold, wet and queing for hours - was told v few left and wouldnt get tickets so went home to dry out - no problem with this as although ST holder for 30+ years I gave up under Penny and only now go to selected games. Good luck to those Latics fans who managed to get tickets - I cant complain as not ST holder nor programme buyer BUT what I do find hard to stomach is those who have bought numerous extra tickets for friends and extended family who have NO affinity to OAFC at all - including many ST holders who used the 2nd ticket for mates who are Citeh / Manure / Ragdale fans or simply going for a night out whilst genuine Oldham fans, lapsed or not, cant get tickets. I personally know several going who have NEVER been to BP before and unlikely to ever do so, just going to Anfield for the experience. If it was down to 2 tickets max for all then this could have been avoided to some extent. Still hope to get a ticket somehow - possibly now in home ends - not sour grapes but sticks in craw when so many non-Latics fans appear to being going for a jolly as many bona-fide fans will miss out.
  23. Not booked yet as waiting to join queues up sheepfoot lane tomorrow for ticket free for all - wonder how many still waiting to get ticket before booking coach - hope there are spaces on coaches for those in similar situ.
  24. Yep - send him down - more like steptoes horse than anything else - useless and knackered !! Wasnt a hard man although he thought he was - just a cynical dirty player who found it easier to foul the oppos crudely rather than out muscle them. I remember more than one occasion when the Latics fans chanted 'off off'' when the ref spoke to him after yet another needless free kick given away. Waste of a wage and waste of a shirt. Send him down !
