  1. Good move for Wellens ....no drive to Donny everyday.....8 years is a long time, if he's still got the desire, it could work because he definitely has the brain.....Pretty sure he got frustrated playing alongside some of the players we had back then....god knows how he'll cope with this lot!
  2. The last time i looked forward to watching latics every week was when the Broadway stand was still up ...Matchday experiance was great. crowded but adequate bar , loads of opinions aired (half time and full time)attacking football on the pitdh ...(liddle, warne, welllens), God we've seen some sh** since then... Freezing cold open air pints in the rocky....screaming at Dean Brill that he's left his goal wide open from free kicks only to see the ball fly in...and clapping Gregan off is all we've had since then. Yeah we've had tiny positive blips but . watching latics these days with all the loanees is not that far above pub football when the manager chucks a few ringers in that no one knows or has an affinity with because there gone tomorrow (step forward the guy with the dreads ..scored for us at Rochdale and against us for Preston) ...Watching football shouldnt be a chore! Please let this new stand herald a new era! And yes I know i dont have go but since the lookers came down 4 thousand people Haven't
  3. To be fair was lively for us on loan till injured.
  4. How many times over the the years has this man turned us over! .......Can you think of any other players that always seem ruin our day ....Luke Beckett?
  5. Starting to lose interest in football completely ...at the very top, the game has become a very rich mans plaything (Almost as boring as F1 where money is thrown around and the best car wins) and signings are made to stop rival teams from strengthening. Players are bought and sometimes stolen from smaller clubs only to be immediately loaned out or play reserve football till the end of their lucrative contracts. At our level it gets worse and worse, we used to draft in a few new players every season, then we got a new 1 to 11 every season, now we get a new team every 6 months! None of them really interested in oafc as they have parent clubs to fall back on. I bet there's not many kids buy a shirt with their hero's name on the back these days! LJ has builit his own team and now he's starting again! As fans, less and less will keep paying to watch these strangers knowing that as soon as we get lucky enough to have decent player of our own he will be sold within a season or walk on free. The best player at our club is No.8 wonder who it will be after 11.00pm
  6. Tickets already bought (which is a given) but basically "Bricking It!" ...Hoping every day to see an established buy / signing, watching two decent league 1 keepers leave, having no striker, an unproven midfield group, Mvoto and Baxter coveted by bigger clubs and last seasons very weak back four. In Mr Johnson we trust ......But Mourinho would struggle Oh negative me lol .....its just that after our very poor league 1 campaigns of recent years I am hoping for a a bit of entertainment. Too much to ask?
  7. Ok enough is enough, In the past few seasons the website has informed us of significant captures such as Dean Jones, Daniel Taylor and others all of who have been given the big build up, but hardly ever appeared in a first team shirt. This year its got worse, we are delivered snippets of imminent major signings, only to find out its youth team players signing pro deals we already knew about. No disrespect to the youngsters, I hope they all have long and successful careers but unless we a pulling off a major coup lets kill the hype!
  8. Earl and Jobbo were class without a doubt, but Gregan was the only player on the park that gave a :censored: in Shez's latter months and Penney's era. A fantastic skipper, great football brain (even though the legs were going when he got to us). In fact after some of those dross games the only reason I stayed to the end was to clap him off the pitch. And he was the only player at that time who understood how bad things were but took the time after every game to salute the fans in each stand for their support.Top, Top player. So LJ a 23 year old Gregan on your shopping list please.
  9. Bit of a hill walker myself so hoping for some discount at blacks. The biggest issue for me is the neck on our current kit, pulling on that top is the nearest thing to being reborn I can imagine! "SORT YOUR NECK OUT" For some strange reason really looking forward to next season already ...Is there light at the end of the tunnel?
  10. Montano for me ...Awesome display .....why even bother with the poll .....Just another regular Saturday, boring affair, no passion whatsoever from anyone , no atmosphere,....starting to become a chore turning up.....if the the players cant be arsed why should we give a toss. Give us some tempo, sick of seeing full back leather the ball head height to Derbyshire. Swindon flooded our box when attacking we had 2 guys (at most) on our very rare forays near their box. Its :censored:e and its been :censored:e for ages. Change please !!!!
  11. Don't think our managers handbags with their no 2 helped .....3 minute stoppage and needless distraction then 0-1. Yes players should be professional.... but why get involved?
  12. Saw that too, as a goodbye .....good luck Paul top man, just as you were as a player cannot be faulted for effort but as a manager you are the focal point ...take the plaudits when things go well ...but after a number of poor performances the same guys that pat you on the back have the knives out! I honestly think you were happy with a point today against a very bad team it cost you ! et tu brute (or something like that !) not drinking again till we win
