  1. To be honest it was our players who were rolling around most of the time, bit embarrasing to be honest. However that Lee is a waste of space. If Hudds Town have to have him up front it's no wonder the sheep shaggers are struggling.
  2. Do you mean which pub are all latics heading for not headed for. Please we're English not American.
  3. Why are Sheff Utd in such a mess? Whatever happened to that money that West Ham were going to pay them as a consequence of the Tevez affair a few years back?
  4. Did I say they were light years ahead of us? Their attendances were pretty impressive before they had their centenary season discount, and their prices have been back to normal for the last few seasons. I've been told that they averaged over 10k when they were in the 4th div a few years back before their new chairman turned up. I'm not dissing Oldham, but yesterday was a real eye opener as the original poster said. Right I'm off to get me tin hat.
  5. Sorry if being a newby precludes me from comment. I know it's been a tough time as a latics fan not just this year but for many years now. Latics fans are a precious, and dying species tbh. The original poster got it right when he said we seem to be decades behind Huddersfield. I am sceptical about claims that Huddersfield's attendances are based on free tickets. I've looked at their website, went to the match yesterday and saw no evidence that their is support is swelled by these mystical free tickets handed out by their uber generous chairman. A lot of posters seem jaded on this website, and I can understand their feelings. Anyways, we seem to be doing OK on the pitch at the moment. Long may it continue.
  6. Can't see how encouraging local kids to attend cheaply is anything to do with having a rich chairman. If the kids don't come we get nothing and they'll likely have a future ahead of them as a Man City/Man U fan. If we give them cheap tickets we'll get a few bob, a few less empty seats and a few potential lifelong latics fans.
  7. Err Read the posts above yours I think they make valid points. Do Huddersfield give tickets awy free. Do they really?
  8. From my knowledge, correct me if I'm wrong, but they had that cheap season deal a few years back to celebrate their centenary. They're back to normal prices now. What impressed me was their family stand. They'd sold tickets cheaply to local schools encouraging youngster to support them rather than the usual premiership teams. Do we do anything like that? If no then we should look into it.
  9. I think it's time we and Hudds stopped moaning about each other. At the end of the day I rate both sets of fans highly. They/we support their/our local teams and aren't plastic premiership watching 'fans'. It'd be nice if both we and Hudds go up this season.
  10. They haven't lost this year yet. So I'd clas them as one of the league's better sides. Today was a cracking result for us.
  11. Hate to say it but I think the attendance figure was spot on. I was in one of the exec boxes in their family stand and the stand looked half full. Considering the ridiculous prices though it was a decent turn out.
  12. We deserved a point. For once the ref was on our side but don't think his decisions affected the result. Pissed off the sheep shaggers though! Onwards and upwards.
  13. Pretty impressive. Some uncomfortable if patronising home truths in there.
  14. Thought the £100 season ticket was in their centenary year? If they still do them their chairman is bloody generous!!!
  15. Wish we could equal the number of fans they have at home.
  16. Reason we have fewer fans than Huddersfield is our proximity to Manchester. As I walked to the game today I saw at least a dozen people wearing Man U kits. If we're honest we'll never have great support because of all the glory hunters in our town who take the easy option by going to Old Trafford.
  17. I prefer our ground to theirs. Ours has character, theirs looks like all the other new stadiums that have sprung up in recent years.
  18. Crikey, I'm knew to this internet mularkey and didn't realise it was so competitive. All I can say is that our support today was brilliant, and I'm determined to go on more away trips. Having said that Huddersfield's away support has always been pretty good from what I've seen. I remember them in the cup last year and they were phenomenal, having said that it was funny to see them knocked out in the next round despite their boasts about going to Wemberlee. Anyway, I'm going to have a hot chocolate and retire to my bed. Toodle pip.
  19. A good day out, and we really got behind the team well in the second half. Have to disagree it looks a magnificent stadium to me. What is the latest on our proposed stadium? I'd heard that things weren't going so well.
