    Joe we fluked it today.

Yes Norwood should have scored a couple but they should have scored 4 or 5 if I'm honest.

What kept the ball out of our net at the end of the first half god only knows.....

granted my view was terrible but I don’t think they created too many clear cut chances. Lots of balls into our box but in the main we dealt with everything they threw at us.

No, that's not right.  We didn't allow them much on Saturday - we didn't allow Newport that much the week before.  Dagenham and Redbridge - Thompson's last game - we gave them half a dozen chances to win it and were grateful for a point in the end.

I was going off goals conceded.

I could be wrong but we conceded 4 in 7 under Tommo?

    9 in 4 under Mellon.

  3. I agree with @JoeP on his comments on Norwood. I actually thought Norwood had one of his better games too yesterday. He looks a better player when he tries to lay things off first time rather than having a touch. Special mention to Kurt who had a good cameo, hopefully gets some more game time.

He chased down more than anyone last night. He won fuck all granted and I'll concede that he's a bit of a smacked arse when it's not going his way but he's not the type of striker to be beating 6ft+ centre halves to a ball lumped forward, and that is literally ALL he had to feed off last night.

Don’t disagree that he was feeding off scraps. But make something with those scraps! I counted 4 occasions in the first half where his first touch let him down.

That said he’d still be in my first choice pairing up front.

    Zero service.... Simples...

There’s more to it than that Gaz and I think it’s lazy argument to just say it’s service. Good players can also create things for themselves. He has shown in glimpses his quality but nowhere near enough. Even when he’s on an on off day, I expect 100% commitment and we don’t get anywhere near that.

The problem isn’t Norwood, it’s the midfield, obviously.

Why anyone would question a striker that has continually scored goals is beyond me.

It’s quite straight forward why he is being questioned. Far too many times this season he hasn’t put anywhere near enough effort in.  Last night was the prime example. He can hold it up and give defenders a hard time, such as the Alty and Dale games. He needs to do that every time he steps out onto the pitch.

It's not a case of just being into football violence for some people, it's a matter of not taking shit. Yesterday a couple of Oldham fans were getting beaten and some people thought fuck that, and ran over and backed them up.  Hence why I think it was preventable and down to poor policing.

Obviously you think differently.  I'm just glad I'm not in the trenches with you and a few others on here.

    Bang on.

    It was our lot.

When we scored the fourth, about 4 lads jumped up from the home end and ran onto the pitch. Which understandably the Dale fans didn’t like, and it kicked off. Then our lot ran over from our end to get involved.

    Stupid and pathetic.

You’re not wrong but I saw it slightly differently.

Two Oldham fans, one in a yellow jacket and a kid maybe about 15 were getting beat up and a load of our lot ran over to jump in. Do you could arguing they were helping our fans in their hour of need. That said they probably didn’t need much encouragement.

I don’t get why Raglan (who has looked ordinary) continues to be picked by some ahead of Hogan? 🤔

Hogan has been top drawer since ST took over imho

Bang on. We talk about lack of leaders on the pitch so the last thing we need is to stop Hogan. Him and Hobson have had so much to deal with and dealt with it well. Throwing themselves in front of shots and defending their box really. Hogan’s been excellent since ST came in.

opinions are like arse holes and yours is covered in shit. your opinion, not sure about your arse.

there was literally no need to buy a ticket but over 500 did anyway and that somehow translates in your head as 'no demand' how much thought did you actually give that?

what the actual fuck is wrong with people's heads??? our species is not going to make it.

I don’t really know what any of that means! Doesn’t sound very pleasant though.

  11. The thing with Nuttall for me is that he doesn’t really look up for it. Maybe that’s his style? I often hear Latics fans slagging players off for just running around a lot. That’s actually a really important attribute! Down to Unsworth to get the best out of him, as there’s a talented lad in there somewhere.
