  1. THIS is Mr S Lee's entire history as Coach/Manager/Assistant Manager/Caretaker Manager: http://www.leaguemanagers.com/managers/history-1608.html His longest spell being between April 2007 & October 2007 - Half of which was during the close season!!! Very strange suggestion that he could turn things around.
  2. Isn't there always! Amazing how these multi millionaires hang about in the shadows waiting until virtually the last breath before stepping in as a saviour!
  3. Thanks for this response to some plausible suggestions. You're comments have finally convinced me to stop visiting this forum and finally close my account here where your opinion is constantly ridiculed and demeaned if your not part of a select few!
  4. I agree with you HallamBlue on your suggestion of turning the pitch. Not sure of the logistics of this but the Main Stand could remain and become the new home end. Rochdale Road end could be extended and the corners filled in to attach to the new home end. The demolished Lookers could become a mixed home/away end with a leisure complex (Gym/Sports Hall/Social Club a la Clayton Arms) incorporated and other money generating units (offices/shops etc). The Chaddy is demolished. A brand new side stand is built facing the Rochdale Road which attaches to the main stand (Possible corporate boxes). This could be built with potential for expansion if/when additional funds become available. Would also be interesting to know if the investors who bailed in February/March are now keen to get back involved with the club ONCE the Council 'Rubber-Stamp' the decision on Monday night!?!?
  5. Just happened to be curious as to when next seasons fixtures would be released (17 June) and googled it, which in turn led me to the following Coventry City website: http://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/8677-Football-league-2011-12-dates-fixtures Clearly a CCFC forum and clearly some of the Sky Blues were not impressed at the prospect of having a fixture on New Years Eve....but then you come to ccfcway's comments that they will get Scunthorpe (Away) - Seeing as Scunny were relegated along with PNE & Sheff U, whilst his idiosy was mildly amusing, I'd love to know how the hell Coventry City will play Scunthorpe either home or away in the league next season!?!?! Also amazed that his comments were posted 3 weeks ago and none of the empty heads there have spotted it and slaughtered the idiot!
  6. Sorry to tell you this Jonesy, but Brian Flynn was shorter. Wright was 1m 63 (5' 4) and Flynn was 1m 61 (5' 3) - Soz mate!
  7. Only rules are that they have to have played at least 1 match for the first team Jonesy.
  8. On Keepers, Hallworth, Rhodes & Grobbelaar were all 6 foot 1. We also had a (crap) keeper by the name of Ian Ironside (1 game played, league cup 2nd leg away at Grimsby which we lost 5-0) who was 6 foot 2. Pogs stood at 6 foot 5 As for John (or Jack) savage, he was a keeper but doesn't appear that he ever played for us. Clubs on Wikipedia are: Hull City, Halifax Town, Manchester City, Walsall and Wigan Athletic. No idea how tall he was though!
  9. When did this come about Ed? Just clicked on the OS and it still links to OWTB!?!?!
  10. Following on from the thread regarding the tallest Latics players we've ever had, heres a similar thread for the shortest. Lets see which one is able to form a team quicker! To start with I'm going for Gary Kelly in goal. And Dickov as Player/Manager.
  11. PMSL! He also failed to mention Ipswich. However, rather than get annoyed at the fact he omitted to mention Latics, I'm quite pleased....hate to be associated with the "S" word and Marshy says it twice in that piece. Let the maple syrup brigade swallow whatever crap he is trying to flog! HA HA HA! One Ian Marshall! There's Only One Ian Marshall!
  12. Others include IF they had been given the penalty v Man U at home (And scored) when 2-0 up. Probably would have come away with at least a point? Or...2-1 up at Blackburn when a soft free kick is given in the 95th minute. Long punt up field from Robinson and Blackburn equalised. 3 points become 1.
  13. Surprise signing but one that I felt excited about on reading the article on the OS. We might start to put away the numerous corners we earn and convert some to goals with a lad of Smith's size up front. Looking forward to the other gems Dickov is due to unnearth!
  14. To be fair Rosa, PNE have taken the piss out of Blackpool before and both sets of fans will continue to do so in the future. Its part & parcel of the game....least until the fun police (Or Europe) decide to ban it and the lemmings in this country duly obey and follow the order to the letter of the law! Sadly Blackpool will NEVER grace the Prem again. The current side will be sold and broken, a season struggling in the Championship will follow with a possible 2nd relegation next season (And the irony will be PNE replacing them!).
  15. See we've got 3 keepers released - Brill, Ollerenshaw and Shaun Routledge. An experienced 'keeper is available in Matt Duke (Hull) who stands at 6' 6". Be good to bring him in with possibly a young understudy.
  16. Almost spot on with your prediction mate! Actual Attendance 4,063 (388 visitors)
  17. I've got it on video lads. (DVD's weren't around at that time!!!! )
  18. Yep, that was me again! Stayed till the end of each, for my sins! Usually one of the last people to leave the ground in all honesty! Rob, I stayed to the bitter end of this one as well! And of the 3 hammerings, this was probably our worst performance, closely followed by the capitulation at home to Peterborough in the 2nd half and then the Southampton match! I look forward to the days when we can go and return the favour to some poor sods on our travels! Biggest wins I've seen on our travels has been 4-1 @ Maine Road (Palmer Hat-trick); 4-0 at Portsmouth and 4-1 at Ipswich. I'd love to see us win by 6, 7 or even 8 somewhere. Ideally with a big following behind us!
  19. What about TOFFS? Would they be able to reproduce it?
  20. I got one of those hanging in my wardrobe! Seeing some of the comments on here and the price they could go for, half tempted to see what I get on E-Bay!!!
  21. Only missed one game at home this season: Shrewsbury JPT There has been times when it was like the marie celeste with the number of empty seats nearby! I managed to go from September 2001 till October 2007 without missing a single home match. Only missed a handful since 07 due to personal reasons & apathy during the ill-fated Penney reign!
  22. The current discount price is about £340 therefore under your proposals, the club would effectively need to sell about 6 season tickets (@ your suggested price of £150 each) for each season ticket that would be renewed at the current price. This would cover the cost of each current ticket that existing holders would have renewed at £340 (as the club would only receive £150 instead of £340) and the additional money would cover the other associated costs (printing costs, food/drink, staff/stewards etc) - This would also generate £900 in income (6 x £150). However the current pricing means that for a little extra money (£1020) 3 fans renew. Is there anyway your mates could take the club up on their current offer of paying £110 a month (interest free) for 3 months to buy a ticket and return to their club that way?
  23. Pretty tough one to call for me. Have been to Accrington this season (I was there when Feeney Scored! ) So going to plump for Shrewsbury as not to far away. However I have mates who live in Stevenage & Torquay away would be good for a weekend away providing the fixture falls kindly! So I am going for the following order: Shrewsbury Accrington Stanley Torquay Stevenage
  24. Did anyone else notice our little Chav brigade in the Rochdale Road end yesterday pretending to by Citeh fans (who in turn are copying Lech Poznan) by doing that crap "celebration" where they turn the backs on the game and jump up & down? It looks sad when you see the Sheikhs play things doing it (mainly because its not their own idea, they just ripped it off Poznan). It looks even sadder when you see a bunch of Oldham fans doing it, moreso when it was being done midway through the second half when we were 2-1 down! Simple message lads, please stop it. We're NOT Manchester Pity!
