I'm not so sure. Joe says he hasn't given up and I believe him.

If nothing else I'm pretty certain he's doing what is in the best interests of the club. And I'd be amazed if he isn't here past the end of the season.

I remember it well, I always used to buy it, it was a good read and funny.

 

Don't know anybody who was involved in writing it or anything, just enjoyed reading it, a young lad always used to sell it on the corner of Furtherwood Road and Boundary Park Road.

 

I've never really been a buyer of Official Programs but the more irreverent style of fanzines makes them far more readable.

alot of people are rightly upset on here after yesterdays performance but the one big question on my lips has gotta be,,,,who ate all the pies,,,,not a single pie,sausage roll,pastie nothing ...were left at h/t in the chaddy.

 

with this and the performance,missing umpteen trains home to wakey cos the beer in the rifle range was going down well all fuelled for a frustrating day..

My last post on this.

I first found out something had happened at the dogs on here. Is that a crime? I checked it out with someone who was there and then contacted the club. We didn't print anything. Then we got word the nationals were going to run with it and that the club had changed it's stance on the issue. So we ran with it, all as allegations. The Advertiser often take stuff from the M.E.N. and vice versa. It looks as though Stu has taken some comments off here and added them into the story. So anyone saying that I did this as part of a vendetta against the manager is jumping the gun.

I would never let my personal opinion impact on any story I write.

Moving on - I'd say the fact that one player has been fined the maximum and two 'others' (note the careful wording) have been reprimanded would go some way towards confirming that it was something Latics have taken seriously.

Anyone who thinks I am a 'traitor' or 'lazy' or any of the other allegations levelled at me on here can contact me at my work email address and I would be happy to meet them for a discussion over a pint.

In the circumstances, the question needs asking, is this so called fan who Stipey states is a journo, reading this board and passing the story on to his employers to publish and then posting a link up on this site to gain more hits for his employers website?

Well, I guess I may as well come clean and put right a lot of nonsense being talked on here. Yes, I'm a Latics fan, season ticket holder. At one point I actually enjoyed coming on this site and exchanging banter. However, there are some nasty, spiteful, downright weird people on here and that includes a couple of the moderators. I disbanded my account as Guernica and had no intention of coming back. But I wanted to put a few things straight with regards to the dogs stuff.

Yes, I first came to hear about the dogs incident via this site. But rather than just print it, I tracked down somebody who was there and contacted the club to tell them what I had been told. We didn't run the story until we were told the nationals had got hold of it and the club repsonded. Today, I found out that despite the meeting, no course of action had yet been decided. There was nothing on the official website and so I posted a link to the M.E.N. website update. Fair enough - it might generate some extra hits - where's the harm in that?

Since working at the M.E.N. I have always tried to get the club as much positive publicity as I can. We had the pink kit on the front and the back pages. I've supported Latics for 25 years and will always do what I can to help.

However, when something like this happens I have to report it.
