  1. For those of you who don't know RA, I can confirm that he is a real (no not you Real) and "special" person.

I actually sat next to him at the Trust Forum last Thursday and I can honestly say that if you met him you would be totally amazed as he is nothing like he appears on here.

The lad is genuine. His spoken english is good (and he is exceptionally polite), but as with a lot of people with learning "issues" the written form of the language isn't.

It took me a while to get his jist and even now at times it's not easy.People who have not met him, need to have patience with his posts and try just a little bit harder to give him, shall we say, the benfit of the doubt.

Like Mr Sinnott said you need to be careful in the circumstances. My daughter teaches at a "special" school and through visiting the school for the events they hold, I have come to understand their needs a lot better.

I'd just ask that you all show a little more tolerance.

He's not the older chap who asked Dickov what effect the styles of football in display in the World Cup final would have on Latics is he?

  2. I hope they do, but does anybody actually believe we are as good as Spain and Brazil. There is no were near as much press hype as the two previous World Cups so i think even the Journo's have finally admitted we're not that Great.

1-1. Late equaliser from Rooney. Cue doom and gloom before a dramatic resurgence sees us get as far as the quarters and the inevitable narrow defeat.

  3. Short, cloudy memories...we weren't that defensive early doors. We just had Parker who couldn't hit a barn door. That Stockport game, we could've had double figures (ok, coulda, woulda, shoulda,) but for first 2 months, we were doing ok with a team that hadn't met one another before. Won our 1st away game in league (that's unusual for us), won 3 in a row in September (5 unbeaten). Yes, there was the horror show vs Hartlepool but generally, the start of the season was nothing like after Abbott went for his Op. Then...as they say, the rest is history. A clouded, murky, unforgiving one.

I walked away form the Stockport game thinking that if we couldn't score against them we were in for one hell of a long season.

  4. Still no Platt on there, interesting. No access to betting sites, is there a way to request odds on someone? I think its mentioned higher up. Could someone ask about Platt?

I don't think the bookies have a clue and are just changing with the betting patterns. Expect another two front runners before we get an appointment. Nice to see the realistic appointment of Paul Scholes is still at 14/1, like thats going to happen.

Scholes will never happen. He was in Sainsbury's on Union Street yesterday. The scandal..

  5. Should hope not cos they only usually happen every four/five years on average. Don't mean to be harsh but sticking you at the Civic Centre tonight of all nights must kindof say something? You brought home the bacon though with the Meacher result,

I'm not even rising to this. You clearly are a bell not worthy of the username.

  6. Mike, sooo incisive, "Meacher retains his seat"...... OMG!!

It's a tough job u got eh? Scoops like that tho, wowwww,

what next, " Vote rigging scandal in Oldham..electoral officials have been alerted to allegations of improriety in the Westwood and Coldhurst wards in Oldham........"

There's a story, can't wait to read it Scoop,

    I won't hold my breath.

You want me to make something up? Clown.

  7. Colbeck - I'm told wasn't his signing but a "club" signing...not sure I believed that when I was told it, but either way, he scored at Swindon then got left out in the club. Hauled off at Udds...not sure what went wrong, thought he had some potential but would never see it when we had to play SURVIVAL football as he'd rather get down the wings and we were being more conservative than that.

Worthington - Started the season brightly. Got injured...not come back the same player. Jury out. Certainly wouldn't call him a bad'un yet.

Parker - Dire...no arguments. Said last Summer that I wasn't inspired as he seemed to me to be a purple patch player. Penney rightly cast him off after giving him umpteen chances. Rightly so. He could've persisted with him and us gone into the mire.

Purdie - Comes highly rated...can't slag off a player we haven't seen. Hope we can get him fit for next season and proves a good'un

Brill - Dire...given similar chances to Parker and rightly replaced. Debutised where needed, but rightly dropped when Flav was fit. Another case of Penney rightly addressing a situation.

:censored: - Got pissed, got into a fight, got concussion and got himself ruled out of playing for 7 days. Penney rightly addressed the situation. I would've hoped the hatchet could've been buried...and in some ways, maybe it was as he got to play a bit more often.

Managers make mistakes...every single one in history...when in tough circumstances ya have more decisions to make and get some right and some wrong...the Red Scum let Tevez go and bought Berbamiss...secretly Taggart will be kicking himself over it now it appears they've lost the title.

I'll add one more to your list...the biggest disappointment of the season for me...Furman. I'm sure Penney is gutted at this lads lack of ability. I know I was.

They were all mistakes. If it wasn't for a chance encounter Gregan wouldn't have been back. And then we really would have been in the mire.

Hopefully the right new man will be chosen and you'll be surprised.
