  1. Felt sorry for Stott, Hamer and Mills as they care and work hard, it has to be demoralising for them at the club with teammates who either are not up to it or just don’t care. Vera, my goodness, he was laughable, I thought he was going off after 20 mins when the coaching staff told Desire to warm up after Vera’s comedy header
  2. Looked good going forward? Not sure I would class a good run by branger and one by Fage as an enjoyable 2nd half. We were a dull lifeless team, Mouche was not interested and is never captain material in a million years. That was our first team and we were outplayed by Halifax. Looking at the collective, there is no team cohesiveness, a lack of leadership and a lack of desire to win. I feel for the likes of Hamer and Stott, who are young lads playing for their local club and will have a desire to play for their club. Stott is vocal and shows more than our captain in trying to lead but needs an older head alongside him to assist him. I think Mills probably thinks what the hell type of club have I joined and that he would probably have been better at Morecambe. We have to hope something clicks in that team and they play fo each other, otherwise it is going to be a bloody long and painful season.
  3. IT states it herehttps://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/2019/may/31052019-v12-finance/ "The Early Bird period will finish on the 14th June when prices will then be increased." Though with no manager, few players and no sign of any progress as a club, I am still not persuaded to purchase a season ticket after having one for 20 years
  4. Or maybe he just doesn’t have a conscience? An accident wouldn’t result in him being told to train with the youth team.
  5. Yet we still won today and Gardner was part of that team that deserved to win today.
  6. Only N’Gala can play for Crawley tomorrow and he has been clubless. Maguire and Gambin are not in their squad tomorrow according to their website. Interesting to see if Morais has himself in the team tomorrow, as both he and his co-temp manger, captain Jimmy Smith have both been in the starting 11. You would think one of them would be on the sidelines.?
  7. The squad which he helped create with the loanees he wanted, the man still takes no responsibility for taking us down and just contradicts himself in attempt to point the finger once again. We managed to build some momentum but unfortunately, we were lacking in squad depth and options at key times in the season, and there is no hiding place in that division with games coming thick and fast on Saturdays and Tuesdays, against competitive sides. So after making an excuse he then goes on to say I will make no excuses though. He moans and then says no excuses, he has done nothing but moan and whine, nothing being his fault. He cannot motivate players, his tactics were shit, he played people out of position and made bizarre substitutions - he may have been a decent player but as a manager he will always be found wanting until he grows a pair and accepts responsiblity for his own failings. Until then he will never learn as it will always be somebody else’s fault and will carry on deluding himself.
  8. So he blames everyone else bar himself, maybe he should have reflected that his methods of communication were questionable if the majority were not taking his instructions. Evidence really of his poor coaching and managerial qualities rather than anything else if what you are saying is true. Hopefully he can reflect , learn and change his approach in a new role.
  9. However he chose to bring them back, so that was his choice as he thought it was the right thing to do; you are correct nobody can say they didn’t want any of them back. Wellens has to look at himself, why he continually played Byrne as a right midfielder, formation s being poo and fundamentally his man Management left a lot to be desired. At the end of the day Wellens had zip experience as a manager and was great to starts with, but then the new manager bounce waned and then we set the true test of he can hack it when backs are against the wall. He was shown to be found wanting, he is busy blaming everyone else other then holding his hands up and taking some form of responsibility on his own shoulders. Everyone makes mistakes, the true value of a person is being honest enough about it, I have seen nothing from Wellens that he is that honest, just finger pointing at others. Question is if he got everything he wanted and the chairman backed him out the hilt, do we have confidence he will get us back up, personally I don’t from what I have seen in his teams, formations, subs, man management and post match. I would love someone with history at our club to succeed, I am just not convinced Mr Wellens has what it takes.
  10. Behave yourself, it's called giving a nickname you doofus, it has nothing to do with race, colour or creed
  11. Really? one of the finest footballers of his generation, a Latics fan and a local lad to boot and you feel underwhelmed. FFS what is wrong with you people, we support Latics a below average 3rd tier football club and you expect something more exciting ?
  12. I like this idea that is on the BBC website http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41029101 Wonder if our new programme compiler is looking into the technology so we can see videos of how bad each referee's decisions are each week.
  13. It has been awhile since I have been to an away game, but the positive signs in the last few games and the return of the ginger winger dragged me and my lads to Chesterfield. I was going to be happy with a point playing the 2nd half with 10 men, but when Clark rose like a salmon to head the goal it was mental. Gerrard was lucky not to be off sooner as well going for a headbutt on Evatt in the game. A special mention to McLaughlin who had a good game and adapted well at full back and putting up with their fans trying to assault him
  14. Why, what difference does it make if they perform on the pitch, especially given the fact that if they have played together before we stand a chance of having some team bonding and knowledge of each other on the pitch, rather than throwing 11 strangers together as you seem to want
  15. Sheridan was never a legend he achieved nothing Legends are the likes of Big Joe, Stitch or Roger
  16. We also have a large population in the borough >200k people. Currently the town is also receiving significant investment and improvement in its leisure facilities, with the trams, old town hall and shopping facilities. All of which suggests a town growing and on an upward trajectory working hard to attract further businesses with its large population as an available workforce.
  17. Disagree Kelly had one of his poorer games for us, his free kick backwards to Eckersley that went out of touch epitomised his game today, though admittedly his poor games are still better than some of our other players. Winchester just didn't want it enough today, his lack of defending exposed Brain Wilson over and over again as He had to pick to pick up two players.
  18. The formation worked until Shreswbury made changes, Kelly did nothing to change his formation and so Shrewsbury got on top of us. The manager then took a hard working midfielder off, when Forte was crying to come off, he even walked towards the touch line thinking it was him. The team needed more energy earlier than that and he left a knackered Forte on. Naive changes, I am sure he will learn, but if he doesn't trust his plethora of striking options in Poleon, Murphy and Turner to replace Forte as a striker then he needs to let them go and get new players in quickly.
  19. I think we need to donate for Marky D to go to night school, for some English lessons. Though to be fair you have noted that "not as good as past reviews but is short and sweet". I have to say though having read past reviews, it is as equally dire as the other reviews. I suppose at least it keeps you from being a nuisance on the streets.
  20. All relative, Jones at least showed some desire for the ball and was not static like every other bugger on pitch. No creativity, nobody will the desire to get past their opponents - Jones showed more than Philliskirk, ergo he was better in my opinion.
  21. Yesterday Philliskirk offered nothing at all; his shot near the end of the game was awful. I am not anti-Philliskirk but yesterday was a very, very poor performance by him. How he managed to stay on ahead of Jones I will never know. Mind you how Kelly managed to stay on ahead of Jones I will never know as well
  22. Spot on Harry, talked to my Barnsley supporting colleagues and they said their wide men were very quiet and sat back all the time, particularly their left mid, who apparently is one of their main attacking threats, who was given the job of keeping Winchester quiet.
  23. Lee Johnson is not having Ched Evans forced ointo him. This is an important point. Simon Corney is not signing Ched Evans above Lee Johnsons head. Another important point. Simon corney is, as I feel he has done in the past, backing his managers decsion which player to sign. But, I do not hold him in higher regard for doing so. Quite the opposite. I am not sure the last one of your points rings true from Dan Roans response, the quote you posted says LJ has concerns but being done with his blessing. That is not the same as Simon Corney is backing his managers decision; it reads to me that it wasnt the managers request but he has been consulted on the move and given his opinion. IN which he has concerns about it but not enough to be vocal enough to tell the directors to stop doing what they are doing. If he did the latter then that would be conversation between the directors and LJ which if either party felt strong enoguh could have led to Lee Johnson leaving his job. Now would LJ want force that situation and be out of a job with a family to support ? Would any of us who disagree with our employers actions be so principled that we force a situation that could result in being out of work?
  24. Singe you need to get a grip, take sometime away from all this as you are coming across as an embittered individual. Having heard Gordon Taylors interview the media headlines again are scarmongering and pandering to the baying crowd for blood by taking it completely out of context.
