  1. A question that may have been answered elsewhere but I may have missed it. Will the new houses that have been built affect the planning permission we have, or does the site of the houses have an impact on the size of the stands that can be built etc. This is not a moan, but I am sure there are issues about light etc that might come into play. Especially where stand extensions are concerned.
  2. Right, BP is a dump we all know it, but we love it. The council are inept and have now we have enough empirical evidence of it to keep fires going for years. We own 2 plots of land. Both worth less than what we paid - at the moment. So I feel we should Get P Diddy to ask nicely if we can play at Citeh, We were going to do it any way (years ago as mentioned - Olympics etc). Although I bet the gits would want a deal with Richards if we did that. We redevelop BP land now - the works started, might as well get on. Then the moneys in the bank. We have to pay rent where ever we play, but may not have up keep. I would prefer a move to Ashton if the grounds can be sorted, the FA will let us etc. We hold on to Lancaster gate and sell when land prices rise or either get rid of Chapel Rd and make our training ground here. Or build a MASSIVE Tesco or B&Q on it. traffic 24hrs a day rather than once a week or fortnight with summers off! Sheik Mansoor has a good mate with billions, likes the P Diddy, buys us, we get a shiney new ground in Ashton or somewhere we are wanted. Also about the Love the team, hate the town thing, I left at 18, had the opportunity to move back, Mrs would not even entertain it and she's from Hemel! Ponte
  3. Took my little lad for his first game and we sat in the RRE, he had a great view, and a great time. sat oon the right handside, not probs at all. Ponte
  4. This was my first game for a while, and on the whole considering the slating the team gets on here sometimes I thought we played well. I think there are a whole load of positives considering where we were, but also for the future. I agree that i think Taylor was being a bit soft, scored and then bucked up, and they had obviously worked on the long pass and him heading it in to the box, so where was the player running on to it? I was a bit dissapointed that although we did really well in the 2nd half the crossing was telegraphed a bit. But as didn't know what to expect, and after last year I think we should have won, had the chances to, but we have plenty of potential and we will get better. I will be delighted to be pushing for a play off place at the end of the season, and if we keep the team together - as its only young I think we will be alright. Now we need a few more fans coming and we'll be ok. Also Latics now have another fan as I took my little one, and it wasn't half as bad as I thought and a Latics kit is on the "asked for" christmas list He was the squeaky come on Oldham you could all hear in the RRE! 5. After finally starting to emerge from the finacial nightmare that is having 3 young kids (over a grand a month on child care at one point!!), my little boy has finally asked to go to the footy and so we are going on Sat. has anyone any advice on taking a little one to the game? he's 4 Stuff like How to get them to watch the game Best place to sit for the predicted numerous visits to the toilets etc etc Whilst feeling quietly delighted that he has asked to go to Oldham - the BBC highlights of the Trammere game finally clinched it, I am worried that halfway through he'll just get bored and want to go home. Any advice? if this thread is meant to be somewhere else then sorry. Cheers Rich
  6. I'm from Cheetham Hill originally, meithered my dad to take me to a game (meaning Man U) got taken to Gigg Lane.... it was the late 70's early 80's so now I can see why. Wasn't happy at the time mind. We moved to the golden acres of Chadderton in 82, and off to Boundary Park it was. My Dad is a Red but now you have to force him to admit it. First game I think was against Sheff Utd, and we won, stood on the Chaddy end near the flood lights. Thats it I was smitten. Close enough and amazingly judged safe enough to go an my own from the age of about 8 or 9 (would that happen now?). I could go to Boundary Park but some days I wasn't even allowed to ride my bike off the street! Still if someone had said that parenting was made up as you go along I would never had believed them! Anyhow the reason I dont go anymore is I moved away from Oldham, but I have had kids, I have been paying £1000 a month for nursery care (i have three) so something had to go. That was it. i am wanting to bring the eldest, but she can't even sit through a half on the telly with out needing at a wee at least once (doesn't happen in Harry Potter though). I cannot wait to take the kids but from where i am standing its going to be one expensive do! But all three know that they will only ever support Oldham. Ponte
  7. When I was at school I used to work on the milk round on Firwood Park in Chadderton. Collecting the money one day I knocked on a door and who should answer but God himself. Who promptly told me that he was baby sitting and he didn't have any money on him. After the dissapointment that Latics superstars did normal things, I was chuffed to bits.
  8. How does your 3 year old do at the game? I've been thinking of taking my eldest but she gets bored very quickly. Cheers
  9. Just a quick hello, I'm looking forward to using the board, as sometimes the 'puter is the only link with the latics world. Dad of 3 aged 5,3 and 10 months. As any one with kids knows, I am completely skint. Still I get to BP when I can. Cheers Ponte
