    He made the changes that had to be made. Green was the difference scaring the left back to death after he had played the first half as a left winger. Clever pass for Fondop to score and a beautifully weighted pass to Hammond who should have scored. I'll just go and put my tin hat on.....

    Ashton v Guiseley today. Cueto looked OK. Better attacking but was up against a very useful right winger on loan at Guiseley from Dale. Moore didn't see a lot of the ball but made a couple of good driving runs and a decent cross or two. How they play football on these pitches at this time of year god only knows. Great effort from both teams. Chatting to a Guiseley fan about Stones. They are very proud of him.

    Alli from Halifax has gone to Exeter. Impressed every time I have seen him.

    I would disagree. On Tuesday when we had the ball the central 3 were 15 to 20 yards wider than today and therefore the full backs 20 yards further forward. Hogan also made runs into the opposite half which McGahey didn't do.

    Fantastic. I used to sit next to a bloke who brought his grandson who was about 10. At half time he said to me 'we can still win this you know'. Being the miserable, hope bashing sod that I am, I pointed out I had watched Latics for 40years and never seen them win from 3 down. As we left at the end he gave me a pitying look that said, 'you know nothing you'.

    I loved Hogan doing that but I also thought that when he did it after the first goal ,there was a bit of , 'oh you're happy when we're winning,you fuckers' Just saying

    Best performance I have seen this season. Looked like we knew what we were doing in that formation. The 3 centre backs spread wide when we had the ball and the wing backs were high from the start of any move. The midfield 3 were interchangeable. Front 2 were constantly available. Highlight for me was Sherons recovery tackle and pass leading to the penalty. That was immense. Get it wrong and it could have been one each. Good feeling coming out of the ground.
