  1. +1 They need to take a more positive approach in dealing with the fans, follow our managers example.
  2. He was another one I was thinking of. I also think you have a good point in regards to Alan Hardy as well, he has been a good servant to the club, but I think we need another Sean Jarvis type as well.
  3. Prozac, you have hit the nail on the head, with your comments to Barry's post. I know that the board care's about the club like we do. But I feel if the board want to find out what the general consesus is amongst Latics fan's is right now your comments pretty much nailed it, both myself, my dad and my grandad before he passed away have had this opinion and feel this way in regards to what's happening right now. The only people that seem to have a positive spin on things has been Paul Dickov, his coaching staff and the players. With the board its still a case of watch the club or it will die, attitude! They don't seem to be positive when dealing with the fans, unlike Paul Dickov.
  4. Like another fan has said, I don't have anything against Alan Hardy personally, but you are absolutely spot on! I was beginning to think I was the only latics fan that had this opinion, judging the way Latics Pete and company went on the offensive whenever I mentioned his name or tried to raise this point. He does at times come across through various media outlets to have the business/market stratergy of Alf Roberts (1980's Corrie, he owned the corner shop, for those who don't remember or were not alive back then). Your point you have made in this comment about the club is absolutely spot on!
  5. Hi Barry For those of us who live in exile, who may no longer hold a U.K bank account to transfer money from, to the schemes account. Is there any chance you could look into setting up a paypal account against this scheme or something similar? That would make it a lot easier to contribute. Other wise its the long winded wire transfer route and for that I would need to know the IBAN number, SWIFT code and address of the account.....ect.
  6. That is true, I am for one am very glad that there not in charge. Great performance on the pitch and off it with the attendance. Great start! Time to celebrate with a few beers and a bbq for lunch.
  7. That is a shame about the attendance, hopefully a few more results like this and more fans will come back. Its an improvement on last season on both performance by the team and attendance. But come come on Latics fans start turning this feel good factor into attendance. The Club needs us!
  8. To bad that Dean Spill is not on that list, but there is still time for the rest of Penney's over payed flops to find the exit door. Mr Dickov has realised what most fans with common sense knew at the begining of last season. Just goes to show how bad of manager Penney was, how bad of a team that he brought in and oversaw. Looking forward to the new season PD and the club seem to be making the right noises, so far.
  9. That's a very fair point from both you and opinions4u. Its just the goakeeping farce, for me just summed up how bad things were last season under the Penney regime. I am not saying Greg Fleming is our saviour but he should not of been loaned out in the first placed and should of been recalled when needed. Especially with Dean Spill in goal.
  10. This was coming from a goalkeeper coach, who's goalkeeping experience consisted of being 3rd reserve to Crossley at Forest and 2nd reserve goalkeeper to Ben Roberts and then Mark Schwarzer at Boro.
  11. +1, I agree! Don't forget Dean not so Brill and that useless article called Parker. Complete Moron!
  12. Nah...I remeber him having quite a few good games for us in our promotion season. Portsmouth and Plymouth away spring to mind.
  13. Any player that Dave Penney signed except Gregan, Pav and JJ. I think whoever mentioned Beckford was a tad harsh. He scored some vital goals, remember Liverpool 93 and Bolton 94?
  14. Anybody but Martin Gray! What was the point in sacking Dave Penney, if you are going to replace him with the man who was just as much responsible for last seasons nightmare as Dave Penney was! The Chalton game should have given a very small insight to the Gray management, talked a big game, but only managed 2 shots on target.
  15. +1 I agree, the word legend does not say enough about Roger Palmer, million times better than the crap we have now. Seeing that picture of him brought back wonderful memories, he is one of the reason why I started supporting this club.
  16. Bunn, for me because he is Latics through and through! That's what we need somebody who care's about the club like we do. Like what they have at Leeds with Grayson. Gannon would be my second choice based on his track record. Anything is better than Dave (I am out a job, dont give a monkey's, with my bad signings) Penney!
  17. I feel Alan Hardy should no longer be at the club, there have been far too many bad things gone on at the club under his role as CEO, I feel he is holding the club back. This was a point I was trying to make last week before I got shot at.
  18. Don't tell me to cut the crap! I agree with you, regards to the owners, having spoke to 2 out of the 3 amigo's, they have come across as being upfront and open with regards to the future of Latics. I would go as far as to say they are most genuine owners the club has had. But what has annoyed me this season, hence my point, is that this has been the worst latics team in nearly 30 years for results and lack of pride in the shirt, some fans would say its more than that. Rather than addressing the problem, that the majority of the ambitious fans like myself have pointed out this season, as opposed to the happy clappy tree huging make do minority fans such as yourself or apologised for the bad season like Peterborough's and Walsall's board did amoungst others. Members of our clubs board such as Alan Hardy and Barry Owen have gone for the lets attack/blame the fans for the clubs faults this season.
  19. That was because we were watching a latics team that cared about the club and took pride in the shirt they played in. It was also a club that appreciated the fans back then, rather than blaming the fans when things got bad, unlike this season when hardy and co have been happy to do that. Blame the fans for there mistakes.
  20. I completely agree with that point! I hope they got that into there heads.
  21. +1 I wouldn't mind knowing what Mr Penney had to say, given the relationship between him and most of the fans. I just hope the current staff at the club that were there from owners down to the players were inspired and realised what could be achieved at this club with continuity and everybody being on the same side. Better realationship with the fans.
