  1. Shame on you. Jobbo and Earl for me, followed closely by Fleming.
  2. Barlow followed by Pointon, any of the players who took us to Wembley, old first division and kept us up in the Premier league. I would deem as the greatest players to put on a latics shirt!
  3. Rick Holden by a country mile, the greatest winger to grace both plastic and the grass of BP! Along with Gunnar who also tormented quite a few full backs, remember watching him tear England apart in Oslo. Me, my Dad and Grandad were that fed up with England, we ended up cheering for Gunnar.
  4. Really John Sheridan! Nick Henry and Neil Redfearn by a country mile, they played for latics 2 leagues higher than Sheridan did! Followed by Milligan.
  5. I think Andy Barlow had a spell at right back too? Although Craig Fleming would be a close second to Irwin, just because he kept a young Ryan Giggs very quiet on a couple times we played United.
  6. Agreed if we are going to go into politics and blame governments then its more likely to be the legacy of New Labour!
  7. Judging by the age of the kids they were more likely to be from Tony Blair's entitled generation Y not!
  8. I have disagreed with SC in the past and have vented like everybody has with the frustrations about the club. But there is no place for this kind of evil! As Prozac said these people are not fans!
  9. Thank you to those who attended, really enjoyed reading your posts. I feel a lot about this appointment than I did 24 hours ago. It sounds as though he has done his homework on the club, players and fans. And pretty nailed what was wrong with the club right now. Good luck LJ, welcome to the mad house!
  10. I did not want him out and we have been paying for that mistake ever since and today's appointment will add to that.
  11. I would like to nominate prozac. Good idea Barry on the new manager meeting some of the fans.
  12. If this Lee Johnson gets the managers job, it just sums up the state of the club right now.
  13. Me too, registered my support and emailed the planning officer. Basically stating that it's about bloody time this council supported it's towns professional football club. Although I had to use my parents address to register as they would not accept a Canadian address.
  14. Not a good choice, he wasn't very good at Swindon nor Motherwell.
  15. His managerial inexperience showed in the end. But the majority of the blame or responsibility has to fall on the players. They let him down. In regards to the next manager for me its either Dowie or Phil Brown.
  16. All I was saying was that he was entitled to an opinion no matter what frequency his support is. But I agree with you both in regards to personal attacks and accusations without any substance. That should really be left off the forum. I think the situation in regards to the running of the club can be discussed without resorting to it getting personal.
  17. I agree, all you fans giving Derek grief for staying away and then coming back to support his team and voicing his opinion like we all do. Should be ashamed of yourselves. By having ago at his opinion this is really going to encourage the fans that the club needs to come back to BP.
  18. Matt Chambers twitter account makes for interesting reading right now.
  19. I don't care as long as it gets results. It's this kind of attitude from the fans that forced the club into the mistake of sacking Ronnie Moore, thus holding the club back and into the state it's in now. So for the fans who are more concerned about the style of football rather than the results and climbing up the table. Your the ones holding the club back. I think Phil Brown would not be a bad shout.
  20. I think he has already had his last drink at the last chance saloon judging by SC comments.
  21. Bye bye Paul, thanks for the cup win. But your time has to be up now. We need points and we are not getting them.
  22. Because back then we could afford to sack shez, but now we have no money? So we are stuck with the current situation, until money comes in from new investment or new ownership. Cost! Its the only logical explanation.
  23. Because we either can't afford to sack him or lack the ambition to sack him? That would involve taking a risk and we know the club management in recent years don't like to take risks, unless the fans give them no choice.
