  1. Went to Chaddy on Saturday and supported via the donation on the door, have just done the same again via the Latics website, lets hope people really get behind this.

I think to get more money in the checkout section could do with a pop up as I nearly missed the box to enter the donation in 🙄 - might just be me not paying attention!

To all those expecting Parkinson or an incumbent manager somewhere- it aint happening. We’re not paying Unsworth off and then shelling compensation out when they’re 60 applicants out of work.

    It’s Bowyer or Mellon.

Fair point but perhaps he would be on less money than the two higher profile names you mention, which would negate the compensation owed over the duration of a contract?

The new man may be en route to BP, having verbally agreed, just waiting to formally sign. Could be waiting to be introduced to players/staff before announcement. A myriad of perfectly sensible reasons.

Why can't we just be patient instead of all this speculation, some of which has now descended into s**t stirring from the usual suspects.

    Are you speculating there 😉

Why, because he’s still in a job?

It could literally be anybody still in employment couldn’t it?

I like the story... as far fetched as it may sound.

Can't announce it until next week as we play them at weekend.

Thomo and Redders had to leave before Saturday as it wouldn't be right if they won being in charge then we got rid of them only to appoint the losing Manager.

If they lose and we won and appointed him then who cares?

All sounds feasible and would be a very well kept secret, but worth a fiver (I have given in to Victor!) 8/1.

Watch the odds drop now! I'm just another mug....😃

How can they announce the new manager if they have not yet made the appointment and logically, of course, Thompson and Redfearn leaving the club is going to be announced. Not knowing all the facts [if we ever do] I feel somewhat disappointed by Thompson leaving before the cup tie on Saturday, which could have a negative impact on the players. Maybe the new person will be in place by then but I wouldn't be counting my chickens.

Interesting scenario if it was Parky at Alty.

I went to that one.  I'm going to have to show my Laticsmind credentials here and say we won 2-1, I think.  Mark Arber playing for Posh got pelters from our lot.

I don't remember it being that bad, but I was drinking heavily at the time...

That Bovril must have been strong Joe :) oh you mean before the game 🤪

    No, what I mean is.

People place bets on the next manager, but in this instance Frank and Darren will know who it will be before the market closes. It’s always been odd to me that bookies offer a market on what is essentially a decision made by a few people.

Its a lucrative market for the bookies, for instance the list as it stands is a guessing game so plenty of cash will be put down on what is currently a lottery, then theres the usual rumour mill which sees big money put down on a punt, usually made by my mate spoke to his mate and his mate says so and so's got the job and its a dead cert. By the time the real contenders are in the mix theres a fair kitty to fall back on so then the bookies just shorten the odds and sometimes even limit the amount on individuals bets place to limit their exposure, by which time they have already cleaned up.

Ken Dodd was never my cup of tea, but a few years ago my wife twisted my arm and we went to see him on a Sunday night in Malvern. He started at 7.30pm and with one interval (20-30 mins?) finally walked off stage at 1.00am. No support act. Quite amazing staying power. It was a bit sad in a way, looked like he lived for the buzz of a live audience and didn't want the show to end. I must have nodded off a couple of times at least, but some of his routine was genuinely funny. The whole thing was a bit surreal, like I'd dreamt it all.

I had to catch a 6am train to London on the Monday morning, having confidently expected he'd be finished by 10.30pm at the latest! Didn't realise he was famous for his shows going on and on.....

    Tickled me that.. 😁

I'm looking forward to seeing what their travelling fan who does match reports  has to say.

He looks like he is Ken Dodds love child with a ginger mop head, thick glasses and buck teeth and in their lingo looks a gurt lummox.

Had the pleasure of bumping in to said Aldershot fan today, was genuinely interested in our history and I'm sure that will be reflected in his vlog. Travelled to every Aldershot home and away game last season which is real dedication. One thing I like about the NL is the quality of fans are 2nd to none.
