  1. Millwall didn't pull up any trees today and they didn't need to we gifted them goals, for anyone to quote posession stats is delusional. A team who is comfortably winning against such poor opposition when 2 or 3 up are happy so sit in and let the opposition pass the ball along the back four. What did we expect? Throwing a bunch of strangers together with a few weeks to go? oh but the club may have saved a few quid on wages over the summer, probably to cover the money paid back to the fans for the last years end of season home wins. Yet again the fans are being mugged off. In some respects, although it pains me to say it, getting beat today might mean we bring in some quality. Wouldn't hold my breath though.
  2. Sometimes you need to feel the lows to experience the highs, I'm sure we used up 18 years of luck in the 'pinch' me seasons... onwards and upwards, Or downwards then upwards.... Be great for someone to get the song going
  3. Cheers Andy slap on the wrist for me I have resurrected my clerical error!
  4. I think we just need to look at the sales of suicide vests to answer that one
  5. Not an anthem but a song which would sound great for our new leader, Stone Roses song, Sally Cinnamon. Just change the words to Johnny Sheridan Here are the Lyrics: Sure you can see the relevance: Until Sheza I was never happy I needed so much more Rain clouds oh they used to chase me Down they would poor Join my tears allay my fears Sent to me from heaven Johnny sheridan.... You are my world
  6. Wagner was Klopp's reserve team coach and he was instrumental in his success at Dortmund, they roomed together having become best of friends. Wagner went in to education and later returned to football after studying sports psychology. Wagner will be on the hit list of a few clubs next season, he's already having an impact at Huddersfield. Not saying Sheridan's assistant should jump in bed with him, but he will certainly have a big impact given the decision making, sometimes you need to bounce ideas off someone and see things from another perspective.
  7. I was hoping I'd be able to view it coming out of the ground, and that it wouldn't be covered in what I can only describe as 'bird sh*t'.... Is that too much to ask?! I won't be putting a complaint in even though I do have the 'concrete' evidence. As for previous bricks, well, the best (or worst) one I think I've ever had was the morning after a five course meal deal at the Millon, washed down with several pints of Lees Lager. I wouldn't advocate using it to hold up a stand though. The whole thing stinks...
  8. I wasn't overly impressed with my brick investment to be honest. Arriving at the ground to find it was covered in efflorescence, although I'm sure overtime this will disappear. After spending five minutes looking for the brick after the game I found it to be hidden behind the door which was latched open to let the fans out.
  9. Halifax Town Managers done a sterling job since he came in... whats his name.... oh Jim Harvey ?
  10. Friday nights cleaning operation at the Blue Tiffin complete...
  11. The latest reports suggest it was an issue with the garlic bread starter, concerns it wasn't fit for human consumption. The club are blaming it on 'moldy old doe'
  12. How else where the club supposed to get the money in the coffers to pay the players wages?! Reputations cannot be repaired by a simply offering a freebie at a later date. The club should bring out a book titled how to antagonise your customers in 'several easy to follow steps' could be a best seller! PR Nightmare.
  13. I don't really see how you can compare the two, something that always frustrates me with football debates. Kelly does good things for the team but he's not dynamic, he rarely picks ball up and drives at the oppositions defence to go on create a scoring opportunity, go on to score himself, change a game, for me that is what a midfielder should have in his armoury. I think he sticks out in a very poor team for his willingness to put his foot in and break the play up, not saying he's not our shining light at the minute because he is, but at the present time we are a poor outfit and when your not playing well the first things many fans look for is a players level of commitment. You could argue the opposite and say Baxter couldn't tackle for his life and gave the ball away too easily at times which put us under pressure. Attacking midfielder vs defensive midfielder, incomparable. One assist last season and one goal in 37 games shows his work is clearly not done in hurting the opposition, and with our gaping holes at the back clearly the defensive side of his game isn't having much impact with the ease at which teams play through our back four. If someone offered me a swap deal now I'd certainly take Baxter, as we can't score for toffee and the entertainment value is nil. I'd rather lose having a go and scoring some goals than go down with nothing more than a whimper. Organisation can stop the team leaking goals, its much harder to find a player who can change a game in the blink of an eye and win you a football match, Jose could. Christ, we even sang his name out loud every other game, there aren't many players you can say that about.
  14. Can we put a request in for the local constabulary to behave too? One things for sure you can gaurantee that the MEN reporter won't be strategically positioned between both sets of fans with camera in hand after last years ticketing fiasco, they knew there was going to be handbags. So often in these cases there's overkill as a direct result of poor event management. Anyone would think it was Millwall vs West Ham.
  15. I'm a pessimist Vincenti got a knock against bury hence his exclusion last night, he's more of an attacking midfielder than a striker, he has been known to accommodate all three. Keith Hill rotates more than Ranieri so who's knows who he will start with. I think 90% of teams in our league are dodgy in central defence
  16. I had to laugh when Swindon scored, they ran to get the ball out of the back of the net to go for the win... he was actually doing us a favour! The most one sided set of highlights I've seen in a long time so good slick football, plenty of chances. I watched Rochdale against Shrewsbury. First 15 minutes Shrewsbury were still on the coach, if you can keep Dale quiet down the flanks they are fairly one dimensional, they get over run in midfield resorting to the long ball up to Andrew. Cannon the young kid at right back is the man to get at, good prospect but not the strongest. If we can get Higdon drifting off him and we will win lots of second balls. Philliskirk should have plenty of space to play in front of their back four like Johnson did last season, they play with a narrow three so unless they sit in there could be plenty of chances. They are struggling for goals so judging by our head to head, perhaps we will get a rare clean sheet and 2 nil win here's hoping!
  17. Why can't we just go back to a simple 4-4-2, all these daft formations lead to players being played out of position players not knowing what their roles are, square pegs in bludy round holes. Top level football is a different kettle of fish but this is league one. We can then ascertain who should be warming the bench as it wouldnt take a brain surgeon to see whos responsible for any cock ups. Jones and Kelly in the middle. Wilson and Dieng centre half. Our right back position is our weakest link so stop Croft going on these marauding runs across the field which leave us exposed when we lose the ball, hes not got a goal threat so IF he does have to play lets use him to protect the full back and feed the ball centrally for the other guys to do the damage. Poleon can feed off a target man use his pace in behind. At home we get done so many times on the counter attack through no fault of our own.
  18. Not knocking his career he won plenty of promotions but was also binned off by plenty of clubs. Would never manage one of the top clubs which shows his success is based on short term motivation and direct tactics. Dunnys response to the keeper playing from the back highlighted that, Fast becoming a dinosaur. As for him being a link between the Manager and Chairman, after that showing no club in their right mind would want Warnock in their set up, unless the Manager was a silent partner.
  19. Give me five or I'll lock you all in for the 2nd half
  20. Could it also be down to FC United playing Stockport at home on the Tuesday?! Will get a bigger crowd than Dale.
  21. Last season was his best strike rate of his career, I think he hit a purple patch, I will take my hat off to him if he gets 15 next season. Didn't look the same player towards the end of the season but he did have a spell on the sidelines, let's hope he gets as fit as he can be and kicks on again.
  22. Keegan was deployed as a right sided midfielder for Scunny in a side fighting relegation, it was only later on in his career when he was pushed up top to a central striking role during his time at Liverpool when he playing alongside Toshack, so stats don't always tell the full picture. I believe he's been brought in to link the play up with others feeding off him, which ultimately means we will be reliant on the same players as last year for goals. That's the concern, particularly as I can't see Forte repeating his purple patch from last season.
  23. Ah... that's why the M6 was blocked resulting in a correct attendance... must have shot his load before the match with all that excitement! Sad state of affairs when it comes to match fixing..... I always wondered how someone who took predictions so seriously could cope with losing.... now we have the answer!
