  1. Summer holiday to Isle of Man would be awesome. Makes up for not having the dough to do the Euros this year.
  2. Loving todays statement but I know Oldham all too well, money talks.
  3. By the way, I'm very impressed. I've been on many forums and heard name calling and lots of bickering because people don't know what they are talking about. I see it on this forum when it comes to OAFC matters but I very much like the diplomacy of this thread so far. Even though we are only on page 2 ;)
  4. Setting up trade agreements is never "quick" Canadas had a Summit with the EU on 18 March 2004 to set up a framework for negotiations with the EU which didn't actually start until 6 May 2009. It wasnt until the 1st of August 2014 that negotiations were concluded. 10+ years that took. Ok I doubt we would take that long but to get the deal we want to trade etc we will still be giving in to the Freedom of Movement and still be paying into the EU for the pleasure of trading etc. So many negatives and what ifs. Voting for In purely on the basis that I know what I am voting for. Voting out means too much uncertainty. If there was any kind of structure laid out for the out camp, I'd be very interest but until then, Im not.
  5. Did someone say PreSeason in Portugal? Im I going on holiday?
  6. There were a police presence interviewing lots of youths outside the train station after the game, must have missed what happened but cant have been by much time, we literally went straight back to the station. Hope he recovers quickly.
  7. Oh dear, didnt realise its all ticket affair. Ive got my train journey sorted but no tickets. Not based in Oldham either, do you think I can reserve a ticket directly from Sheffield United?
  8. Exactly!!!! Maybe if gate costs went down across the whole of the football league we would all have to pay footballers less. In turn to "succeed" at a career in football the bloody pansys might actually put some effort into trying and in turn we might end up with some decent English footballers and a good national team. We all know things dont go backwards though and this is the problem with football in England, too much money to play a game, even from the lower leagues.
  9. I agree, on paper the math looks ridiculous for us all. But if we (all) follow suit, footballers (who are not Premier League quality and dont put in the effort) will just have to accept they will be paid less and need graft for a living rather than be carefree layabouts when a club is fighting against relegation. It MIGHT actually spur on some of the lads to put more effort in to being the best they can and could improve English football. Too many footballers now a days think its a right to be paid stupid amounts for the skill they possess without applying themselves.
  10. Super, my comment about getting the money back was half tongue in cheek. I'll spend our one hour train journey to Sheffield on Saturday sounding my brother out then. Thanks
  11. Call me a sceptic, but will the club have the funds to return back to us if we win a few games? I know a normal business would lump all the funds received into one pot ready to do a partial Credit but we know OAFC is not a normal business. I'm actually considering this for next season if I can get my brother interested. Even if I only made half of the games it would be a decent investment
  12. Quite a while back, guessing maybe 2007 when Andy Legg got sent off? Or was it even further back than that?
  13. When we signed Rooney I really thought Oldham were a team that played top football and we only ever missed a goalscorer and this was that guy. I told everyone at work we were going to bag loads of goals that year and I had us down for promotion. I think thats the only year in the last 15 I actually thought that was really going to happen. I was soon punched back down to size.
  14. They are in the PO's at the moment and could well be playing a higher standard of football by August.
