  1. I dunno. Wheater got injured when Abdallah wouldn’t let him play and all he was doing was lifting his dog up!
  2. That’s the first time in a long time I’ve come away from a ground thinking ‘we looked a good team there’. Everyone put in a shift and we played some lovely football once we’d settled down. Gardner was pick of the bunch for me, frustrating as he’ll be injured again soon, Norwood got better and better as the game went on and was so cool for his finish, and I’d forgot Mgahey was still at the club prior to Altrincham but he’s grabbed his chance superbly. As someone else has said, you have to wonder why Raglan has been out of favour for so long, and it has to be tempered by the fact that Woking were woeful and in dreadful form, and it is Latics so we’ve all been here before not to get too giddy., but very positive signs. Lets see what Barnet brings now.
  3. But no one every says how far we are behind getting a home game in the playoffs, it’s always the last place, which would mean two away games to get to final. No one has finished seventh and gone up, so we need to be aiming as higher than that.
  4. I think it works out about £10k a game (if that), maybe slightly more for the play offs. You getting much for that. If that’s what we’re pinning our hopes on we’re fucked!
  5. Well the taxman hasn’t changed his rules. We never used to report it this way so there’s no need to do it now. It used to be the opposite in fact. Whenever the crowd was announced it was regularly greeted with groans of ‘there’s miles more here than that’, and we often claim to have taken a far bigger away following than the official figure says.
  6. I’ve never understood how you can count people who aren’t there in the attendance figure. If you don’t attend, how can you be in attendance?
  7. Go on then, what’s incorrect by his stats? I’ve no idea who’s right or wrong, but what are the true goal scoring facts for the two?
  8. It’s all about results on the pitch but I must admit I find Mellons interviews refreshingly honest comps to the bullshit Unsworth came out with. Mentioned the missed chances but wasn’t happy with our overall performances , saying we didn’t dominate the game. Was unsure about the penalty but didn’t bleat on about it like you know who would have done. He knows what needs doing so hopefully he’ll get on and do it.
  9. If we win them. No prizes dished out if you don’t, and the best chance of winning them is being the best team in them, and god knows how many points behind that we are
  10. I can’t get excited about how many points behind seventh place we are.
  11. Obviously not cos he’s only just got the gig. But we’re a long way of we’re we need to be so I’d say that’s why there’s ‘doom and gloom’ although this board seems fairly upbeat to be honest.
  12. Stranded in mid table approaching the half way stage in the fuckin’ National League is not nothing.
  13. 1 in 9 actually. 4 wins, 4 draws, 1 defeat. All since Unsworth left.
  14. You might be right, but the last three performances under him were a bit flat also. If they liked him that much, they should have pulled their tripe out a bit more and made sure he got the job
  15. 30! Bloody hell, he was only getting 20 a minute ago. Let’s hope you’re right, but there are players scoring more in shitter teams than us. Like I’ve said before, I’m a Norwood fan, but there is some merit in what Joe P and others are saying Anyway, when he’s got his 20 (or 30) and we’re chasing Chesterfield down we’ll all be happy and agree he’s a good ‘un.
  16. I never understand the ‘on target for x goals, points etc’ The season won’t mirror what’s happened so far for the rest of it. If it did there would be at least a dozen players scoring over 20 goals, which won’t happen.and we are ‘on track’ to finish 10th, which would be shite. Im a Norwood fan, but I have to be honest, I was expecting more from him.
  17. I’m guessing he’s saying that when Unsworth was here they were decent players who should be doing better, and it was all Unsworth’s fault that we weren’t. Now, they are shit players who are playing to the max of their ability, whoever the manager is.
  18. Do you really believe that? If that was the case we might have well as stuck with Unsworth if Mellon can’t do any better with them.
  19. The first job, and the most important job of any manager is to improve the players he has, and thereby making us a better team. If he’s not up to that then he’s the wrong choice. I’m not saying he is, and I’m sure given time he will make improvements and when he is given the funds to bring in new players, they’ll be coming into a better environment. we can’t just keep signing a batch of players, giving them a few months then saying ‘this lot aren’t good enough, let’s get rid and bring another lot in and hopefully we’ll be better.’ A manager’s job is to manage, and make the team better. The last one wasn’t capable, I’m a lot more confident this one will be.
  20. The best players will also create their own chances. Im not knocking him, I think presently he’s our only chance of getting out of this shithole of a league, but he shouldn’t be beyond criticism and I was expecting more from him.
  21. I’m in the middle with Norwood. He’d be in my team every week as he’s better than the other strikers we have, and if we created more chances he’d score more goals. But he has to do more. I don’t get the ‘he’s our leading scorer’ argument in his defence either. The main striker should always be the top scorer, especially as he starts pretty much every game. Seven goals is nothing spectacular anyway. Look at the leading goalscorers list in our division, and there’s plenty on more than him playing for lesser teams. We need to find a way to get the best out of Norwood, but he also has to get the best out of us. I’m definitely in the Norwood in camp, but he must do better.
  22. How is the fan base trying to oust him? a cop of people on here have questioned him, as is their right, whilst most fans are firmly behind him. As usual, a few becomes everyone.
  23. When he got his contract extension most of our fans seemed to be saying it was well deserved
