  1. On paper (or screen!), that's a good squad for L2 - if, and it's a big if, Wellens can get them to the play they were when he took over. But it's all in the crystal ball...
  2. I sponsored Gary Kelly in his final season for us - still have his framed, signed shirt with T**ex on it.
  3. I have to admit, I hadn't been for 9 years or so (due to various health issues) before the Oxford game - filled with optimism - know how that turned out. And then we had yesterday - I've seen 10 year old players do much better. Don't mind losing if there's effort - from the majority anyway, there wasn't - save McLaughlin, Gardener and maybe the Belgian lad. And then we come to value for money. Between 3 of us (2 adults and a 12 year old - who incidentally, appraised us succinctly - you can guess) we spent nearly £80 on the day. Most entertaining thing? The corner where nobody realised Banks had been subbed - says it all for me! Oh how I've missed 'real football' and these fancy formations ?
  4. Bit like those two gorillas that are at Salford?
  5. I think those of us who have been through the high & the low (my first game was in 1980/81), been sponsors (as I and my various businesses have at one time), bought ST and just turned up on the day, share your sentiments and frustrations - and you've summed it all up very eloquently. The answer is of course, investment, both in terms of finances, coaching and playing staff. The question is, where will it come from? I know Simon quite well and have had a few conversations with him (usually in San Carlos Manchester), and I still believe that he has the good of the club at heart, but I think his hands are tied behind his back from afar. As for Barry, the less said the better.. Best wishes for the future!
  6. I'd be prepared to be disappointed. Been working quite closely with somebody who has the job to make the the place look, shall we say, festive. Worked their balls off on Friday/Saturday(even paying for extra staff) to get it ready, only for it to be cancelled and people turned away at the door.
  7. It's easy to judge when you don't know what the full story is.. Be kind, be patient, above all, remember the old saying that you never know what's around the corner. Those of you that think you have it all and nothing can touch you? One day, it could be you....

  8. Saw him Wetherspoons in Ashton on Friday with a.n. other - wolfs his food down, so he does!
  9. Bayern, wow, just wow!!!

  10. Happy Birthday Joe!!! #legend

  11. I do believe that tonight will mostly be spent at my desk, catching up on three weeks work, entertaining the dog and, drinking whatever alcoholic beverages are in the fridge! If it's good enough for Jay and Ces, it's good enough for me....

  12. Painkillers and bed. The end - tho not literally, obviously!

  13. UPS setup = another wasted (well, not productive) morning. Thanks to New Charter for :censored:ing up my electricity supply, so that a) I can't rely on it and B) they can make money from solar panels! Bastards!!! Wonder if they will reimburse me for the £80 I just had to spend?
