  1. Oldham Athletic 1 - 0 Northampton Town (0-0) Green 3258
  2. You can tell we're ready for the new season. A player signs from non-league and we're comparing him to Clodoaldo. I hope you're right, mind.
  3. Typical. Probably too late for delivery from the online ticket office as well. Looks like an extra half hour in Bermondsey for me.
  4. Does anyone know if it's pay at the turnstile on the day or a tremendous faff involving ticket offices, queues, and quite possibly rubber gloves?
  5. My commitment was dashed on the opening day of the 2015/16 season, when a 100% correct match prediction saw me hit a season-high of 2nd, kept off the top spot by an incorrect match prediction and a lucky attendance shout. I never recovered from that. I'm not bitter though, and after a good off-season I'm back to restore some faith in the LaticsChris brand.
  6. I'm in and paid up. I'm just hoping to entertain the fans by predicting lots of goals and, most importantly, predicting with a smile on my face.
  7. Peter Clarke is one of those players that it always felt inevitable would end up turning out for us, being locally based and always bobbing around somewhere near our level. Could be a useful signing with something of a Gregan impact. Might also turn out to be tosh, but we'll see.
  8. God I love this club. They introduce something good like this, then refer to it as 'state of the art', making the official statement sound like my Mum talking about bluetooth. Bless 'em.
  9. Well well well, I did a cursory google check before I wrote that comment, but didn't realise it said they play in Fred's Pie Shop Sunday 8th Division. What a shame.
  10. They're Leigh Genesis now and play at that new(ish) Sports Village place.
  11. It's OK, it's an all blue kit. It'll do. I'll love it if we win the title next season. I'm part of the 1950s kit lobby group though.
  12. If he's got the correct attitude to manage at this level he'd understand that someone like O'Driscoll would be invaluable in providing the lower league experience he lacks. That's a big 'if' though.
  13. In Italy, that is. Whilst I'm open to the argument that Lord Ferg was a member of the Army of the Dead for a good portion of the last two decades he was still managing United when they named the stand after him.
  14. I'm getting the same message. I'd be happy with Robins, as you say he's competent and experienced. Does someone being a red really put anyone off a manager? We're really not in a position to be so emotional about these things.
  15. I agree with you generally, but Johnson is MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip.
  16. I'm quite excited for Millwall away. I've managed to live in London for a year and been inconveniently/conveniently (largely the latter I suppose) unavailable anytime we played within a 50 mile radius. And I hear they're a welcoming bunch.
  17. If you squint the chap sat on the ball looks like Bobby Moore
  18. I thought the name Boleyn Ground was common knowledge. For those interested, this is from Wikipedia: I don't remember Maine Rd so much, but there was definitely a grand old circle jerk when Arsenal left Highbury.
  19. I think the permissions Celtic have will be largely irrelevant as they're under a different league and FA, as well as devolved building regulations etc. I'm all for safe standing though, particularly in the lower leagues, where there's no real danger of large, 'dangerous' crowds.
  20. I think the lower league Vardy will be lining up in France this summer! You're right though, momentum could be key. Part of that though is not titting bout with the squad too much. Finishing the season well is great, but if we have a team including 5 or 6 new players on the opening day then it's a completely fresh start. To continue your Leicester analogy the only change to their regular starting line up has been Kante.
  21. I think it had swayed that way already when I last looked at this thread early last week prior to Obama's statement, a big swing from the leave majority when I'd looked at this thread previously. Having said that I'm sure a lot of people who were on the fence will have/will be swayed by the fact such a big figure has expressed their desire for the UK to remain, whatever you think of their motives.
