  1. I reckon so, that sort of thing can take a while to iron out (particularly in this case). Other possibilities include something to do with Corney/Lawyers. The statement not giving a statement, maybe a rouse for more time? Maybe with the fan pressure and media attention they've bottled it and thrown that out to buy a bit of time, well they try to hang on to some credibility. All guess work. Doubt we'll find out tonight...
  2. If the Independent article is true and Johnson's view has been ignored then it's an extremely poor choice by the club. If Johnson doesnt want Evans then that should be that. The manager is hired to build a squad, tampering with that might see him go, who knows the knock on effects. So much for Barry Owen and even Jenny Warburton for that matter who are supposed to be our voice within the club, think we all agree some changes need to be made. Let's see how this pans out!
  3. Amari says 'Obviously' approximately 15 times in that interview...
  4. http://www1.skysports.com/football/live/match/288299/video Extended highlights, no squabbling unfortunately.
  5. To entertain, inform and, hopefully provoke discussion. It is above all a vehicle for YOU to express YOUR opinions and ideas about the club, on whatever subject—provided, of course, that your comments are not racist, sexist or injurious. . . . BTB will offer constructive criticism of officials, players and the club in general, especially when criticism is merited, and especially when it has come to our attention via the people who really count—THE FANS. (Pete Mason, “The Latics Report,” Issue 4, 1989)
  6. haha I completely understand why you would think that Stevie.... I often think that myself. However saying that, Ive got to do it on something so I might aswell do it around the club I support. And if it get's published it's free publicity for the club!
  7. Really interesting to read these responses! Especially from Pete Mason himself! The reason behind me asking these questions is that I am planning on making it the main focus of my dissertation. It's very much in the early stages, but I will be looking at why OAFC don't have a fanzine anymore, effects of new media ect ect. Like I say it’s just in the planning stage, but further down the line I would be interested in talking to some of you, if anyone would be interested. Thanking you all again, I knew my fellow fans wouldn’t let me down. Andrew
  8. I've just got a couple of quick questions to all forum members, any responces will be very much appreciated. Am i right in thinking that the last running paper fanzine at the club was 'Beyond the Boundary' which ended in 2005? Also is anyone aware of any OAFC e-zines (online) fan magazines that are currently running or have not long siezed production? Thanks in advance.
  9. Stab in the dark, but the change in position could be for croft? He talks aboit pace and not getting in behond the back four. Maybe in to the middle of the park? Hes decent on the ball so who knows
  10. Took me a while to read through the pages but it has given me a new insite into Lee that I didnt have before. Really do believe there could be something there, and to the people sticking up for croft, he shouldnt be wearing flash earrings in and around the club, its a no nonsence approach and I think its the right attitude to take with our current group of players. Hes talking about pace, so maybe hes planning to move croft into the middle of the park? No greif to croft hes be top notch of late. but maybe that could be the position change he talked about. As stated by many others, thank you to all the fans that went of there way to go down to the ground and report back to us.
  11. Agree with the general consensus on here so far. The arogant :censored: pissed me off from the start. Summarised his game when tark's went up from header against howard towards the end of the game and howard ran out and jumped into him and fell to the ground. Oliver gives it Everton way. Whenever there was a ball in the box howard fell over becasue he knew Oliver was naive enough to go for it. His decisions might not cost us the game, but certainly hindered our chances.
