  1. Warnock and Dickov excellent. Resentment for Dickov is silly as he showed he wanted us to do well when he was on ITV for the Everton match. Getting BT Sport on-line always has a good picture as well. Its nice to see your team get proper coverage for a change.
  2. This looks like it's partially a pop at me. What I've said: Both have lots of talent. Mellor has been poor all season, but if there's something mentally wrong he shouldn't be playing and I hope he recovers. Winchester has improved a lot, but still looks to be inconsistent and has yet to address some glaring physical issues. From observing on the pitch, the psychological problems that some suggest they're suffering from manifests itself as looking like, to the fan, they're not working hard enough. The 'wankers' comment was stupid in hindsight. It was said before anyone suggested mental problems though. There's nothing more pleasing than your own players doing well, which is why we're probably overcritical of them. I'm desperate for them to do well and I'll continue to support them when they're playing, unlike some stubborn mainstanders.
  3. JCH is a year younger than Mellor, Millar and Winchester. Let that sink in.
  4. I'm merely passing on the information other people, who know them, have told me. How have I killed them? I've praised them, said they've got a lot of talent and are capable. On the poor attitude comment, we all know Winchester needed to bulk up and add fitness to his game - he hasn't, but I feel has developed on the pitch well. Mellor, when he's on the pitch doesn't look like he wants it enough. Credit to him, he had weight issues and sorted them out, but on the pitch I can only say what I see. If there is something off the pitch that is halting his progress then good luck to him. I'm happy to give patience to a player in difficulties, especially one of our own prospects and I hope he beats whatever he's battling with. But it'd be mad not to question them when they ask to come off after 27 minutes with 'heavy legs'. Purely during the matches I've observed, Mellor's attitude doesn't warrant him a place. I'd say I'm focussing on Mellor more because we saw at the end of last season what he can do. He was fantastic but hasn't recreated form anywhere near that. If there's something psychologically going on with him then it's wrong that he's playing, support him outside of football and let him get back in his own time.
  5. Very interesting, especially in austere times, but we can't compare Uruguay to Britain. On another note, what does the BSFC stand for on your picture, rummy? I've seen it about before but all I could think was Bishop Stortford Football Club, who I'd hazard a guess don't have a communist element!
  6. Pipe down. Don't try to tell me you've never commented on a player's attitude before. Perhaps you should read my post again ' as long as there's no injury/illness to justify the 'heavy legs' I say what I see on the pitch, and it just isn't good enough from Mellor for a player of his talent. If anything off the pitch is troubling him, it's simple - he shouldn't be playing. That would be the fault of the management.
  7. Preston away at the end of last season was 2-0. This is a very good sign in my opinion. We're very close, the only thing holding us back in my opinion is our injury list. 2 key players out yesterday, and that seems to be a reoccurring theme. We miss Charlie MacDonald's industry and movement loads. I fancy us to beat anybody on our day with a full team.
  8. I have watched it since, twice. I'll admit, Watt had a bad night, took along with the disbelief we all felt when Groves dropped Froch it certainly distorted the viewpoint of the fight for the TV audience. All of the rounds were closer than he voiced and Froch landed more than he claimed; it was almost like he commentated on the context. However, I still gave Groves most of the rounds, the stoppage was far too easy and still think the judging was of poor quality. Putting that fight, and the possibility of a rematch behind, Broner being battered was entertaining.
  9. I said it last night - this lad plays well when it suits him. He doesn't want it enough. I'm astounded by the rise of Winchester ahead of Mellor, that said, they're both a likeness in attitude terms - poor. Shame considering their ability is high. Sorry, but as long as there's no injury/illness to justify the 'heavy legs', he wouldn't get anywhere near my team for a while.
  10. Feels like to me he just can't be arsed to strengthen himself or improve his fitness. We've known for a long time this needs improving, yet he hasn't changed at all. He can't rely on his on-the-ball ability all his career cause the football league is a brutal place if you're not willing to put in the effort. It's probably a good thing that Mellor and Winchester are getting opportunities to play in lots of different positions but a side effect is both look devoid of confidence for it. Similarly, both just look like they don't want it enough. In the future, Winchester is a fullback and Mellor a centre-mid, but don't put the effort in and they'll waste lots of talent. I don't buy this 'heavy legs' excuse Mellor had for coming off either. To me, that screams 'I don't have the attitude to face a tough spell against a good side'. If these lads work hard they'll make it, both are class on the ball, Mellor's long passing is brilliant and Winchester's short passing is fantastic, but neither appear to have the fight and desire to do that, and like McGoo says I reckon both will be consigned to the lower division if they carry on as they are.
  11. You're onto something. The problem with Winchester and Mellor seems to be mentally, both have the quality on the ball. Terrible attitude, the both of them. I've heard that both are wankers off the pitch aswell. Neither of them want it enough really, doesn't help that Mellor is played in every position on the pitch too. Millar just isn't good enough, yet is the one that has the better attitude strangely.
  12. Plays when it suits him. Was incredible against Orient, then has bad lows. Matt Chambers said he played well today though... Needs some consistently, same problem that's happening with the rest of our own academy products at the moment. One game they're great, next one they're :censored: - Mellor and Millar prime examples. Less of the match-fixing comments.
  13. Nah, I'd rather not, thanks. Coped with a miles better Bradford side, so we'll deal with Mansfield just fine.
  14. That's one of the toughest games we'll play all season. Horrible manner of defeat, and Johnson has to learn some lessons but we're doing fine as it stands. A trip to Anfield could boost morale which with this weeks events probably isn't too high at the moment. A win on Tuesday would be huge. Mansfield aren't a 10th of the team Brentford are so we should be twatting them really.
  15. The 'pretty obvious' to you isn't worthy of reading.
  16. Then what is your vitriol going to achieve?
  17. It'd be more likely Rodgers pairing Wes in a midfield 3 than Mellor, with Smith the more forward centre-mid. I like the look of that team for home games. Alas, we're playing away at Brentford, one of the leagues best home teams, free-scoring on their day; there's no chance we'll play that formation or team.
  18. He's on 7 now from 17 starts. Projected to score 14, including substitute appearances. Projected to score 19 if he starts every game from now.
  19. 2008/09 before the 5-0 loss to Hereford we were unbeaten for 9. Same amount of draws and wins too. 11 unbeaten in 2007/08.
  20. Possibility, but they've got a KFC on one end of the ground don't they? I was thinking it could be Guiseley...
  21. Recognise this non-league ground, anyone? (There's not much to go off). Mike Keegan watching a lad we've got tabs on there https://twitter.com/MENOAFC/status/410831421394001920
