    Me too. It's puzzling why Atherton wasn't brought into the squad, when available, to fill Green's boots unless Mellon was trying to prove a point ( a bit like Shez did naming 3 subs a couple of years ago !).

    Really don't get this obsession with crowd numbers. We all know everybody counts season ticket holders.

    Definitely happened, I'd guess about 50 or so booing as the players were leaving the pitch pre-match and again at half time when we were actually winning. It has been a very poor and disappointing end to the season but if I resorted to booing players before a ball had been kicked I'd just stay at home and wash the car !

    What galled me yesterday was the group of "supporters" who booed our players during the pre-match activities and at half time. I don't boo myself, because I can't see the point, but totally respect the right of others if the performances are poor but to begin before the match has started is just stupid.

    The pitch is still bearing the scars of the smoke bomb/flare thrown on by one of our "supporters" 3 or 4 home matches ago.

    Gives them a bit more time to swan off to Dubai or play a mid season friendly in the antipodes !

    The fans apathy certainly hasn't helped the situation but is understandable given the dross they've witnessed on numerous occasions. A real shame we couldn't make a very achievable play off spot but the lack of positivity from the players (and staff) over the season has been very damaging. The absence of much aggression and urgency, even when leading, has led to a number of dropped points which would have comfortably sealed a place in the play offs.

    Agreed, but his form has tailed off alarmingly so Couto could have been an "interesting" late season alternative.

    He's always seemed a bit lightweight when given the chance to play ( when others didn't get the same opportunity ! ) and was "out on his feet" after about an hour. I would have liked him to have been recalled and played whilst Kitching has been sulking/knackered to see if the loan spells had benefitted him but it's getting near the end of the line I'm afraid.

    Probably delegates that or relies on feedback from the loaned club. I'm surprised Benny has lasted this long at the club as he hasn't progressed at all despite being given chances the previous manager denied others.

    Consensus is that either you give a longer contract or more money but we seem to have offered both to some recruits.
