  1. Can I suggest we get a new backer before we try getting rid of the current one. i cant see a bankrupt club making great progress or attracting new investors
  2. I would guess so with 3,600 expected. I am getting the 11.19 from M,cr Piccadilly as I am up overnight Friday for the Manchester Beer festival.
  3. And more importantly Beer in Doncaster! I can recommend the Leopard and Plough both close to the station and pubs of character with good Ales and I will also try this year The Draughtsman Alehouse in the station and Doncaster Brewery & Taphouse in Young St also close to town center. I am looking forward to a great day out! Cheers
  4. I will be heading for Waters Green Tavern a short walk from the station https://www.facebook.com/watersgreentavern/
  5. Thanks LSA . Disappointing can you steam weekend matches from abroad? Andrew aka TL42
  6. Can anyone advise how I can watch games live through live streaming on I follow please? I pay a monthly sub of £4.99 to see highlights on I follow. I have tried before but usually get a message "pass not available for this match" I am hoping to see live how e perform v Forest Green in the wake of that great day at Fulham on Sunday
  7. Agree with all. I thought he was outstanding and not recognisable as the player I saw at a shocking display against next oponents Forest Green.
  8. I would be interested and probably my son Mark too - but the link did not work for me. Do I need to be in a facebook group to get access?
  9. I am not going but if I was would have gone for Railway Inn 9 Station St, Mansfield NG18 1EF some recent reviews shown below Great food and great selection of beers ales and cider friendly staff and clientele would definitely recommend if you are visiting or live in Mansfield Daniel Barsby Local Guide · 19 reviews 4 weeks ago Loverly food, staff and atmosphere. Large enclosed beer garden. A little small inside and doesn't accept card.
  10. Me too. I loved his style and always thought he came in for a lot of undeserved stick, he would often make a great stop and then defense just stood motionless whist an attacker moved in to score- yet it was always Placides fault according to many
  11. I don,t think a poll like this is a good idea. It implies doubt and if it shows negatively it is not a good way to start off. Whoever is appointed needs to be supported from the off by the majority. There are many Latics fans who don't post on these boards and so whatever the poll shows is only a snapshot. I accept that people have and should have a view but think these should be exchanged via other threads.
  12. That was brilliant and mirrored the perception I have had of Oz every time I have seen him. We could have used him on saturday for sure- would like to see something similar for Pringle!
  13. I agree entirely- unless we can get Conte if he leaves Chelsea
  14. You can do a lot worse than the Malt Shovel on Bridge Street and the Albion Bar Kingswell Street is brilliant and home of the reformed Phipps brewery- tons of good beers in both
  15. And of course the Laws- Josh and more famous Nicky
  16. I just watched the 1976/77 game at Craven Cottage on You Tube where Best scored one from just outside the dee of the penalty area with a perfect chip. I thought he only played one year at Fulham- It is painful viewing mind you
  17. I also overheard Shrews fans saying that we had been unlucky. I thought we were pretty poor to be honest. OK Davies has too much to do on his own but mistimes every jump and loses every header and only held the ball up a couple of times all game. Tope looked too timid and body language told the defender he expected to be tackled every time and looked reluctant to receive most of the time. I thought the original post was a bit harsh on Flynn- he is not involved all the time because of our awful current hoofing style but when he is on the ball does at least find useful lay offs and chases back well. We need a lot more as we were out muscled for most of the game- Hoping that the Irish lad can help and that we can make some useful additions in the window
  18. Having seen Placide 3 times now- Bury, Gills and Donny yesterday- Apart from great saves in each of the games- he contributes so much from his distribution, giving us 11 outfield players, his general presence and commanding of the area, confidence he gives to the rest of the defence, his entertainment value and his inter-reaction with our fans. This guy is an absolute gem and one I will happily pay entrance money to see!
  19. Is there some point to this? If there is please advise? - trying to base stats on 5 gammes seems pointless to me
  20. I went along Saturday and enjoyed the 2nd half a lot and it could have gone either way. I thought Eves was a nuisance and threat for most of the game. Agree with most of the comments on Byrne, yes our most creative player but should share his work more. My main observation was Aaron Holloway and what a difference he made again after coming on and I feel he makes a more telling contribution than Davies- he regularly wins the aerial duels and remains on his feet most of the time and brings others into play. I also thought Fane made a real contribution and is continuing to improve. Overall I thought we all played well and worked well as a team.
  21. I agree and think that Dummigan adds so many more attacking options than Wilson ever does- much as i admire Wilson's profesionalism and reliability .
  22. I assume that it was a sarcastic vote. I saw him and Obadeyi after the game and could not bring myself to say anything to him. Tope on the other hand was great and easy to chat to
