  1. Our supporters who 'Howl at the Moon' will be out in full force soon

2 Home Wins and 6pts against a bottom end of the table York City and Oxford City a recent addition to the National League

Our next 3 games are against the current bottom 3 teams in the Form Table Kidderminster (A) Wealdstone (A)  Maidenhead (H), all winnable you would think

Steve Thompson has done a good job of stopping the rot and looks to be getting a tune out of the squad and the addition of Neil Redfearn should help keep the momentum going

For me, Frank and the Board need to complete the search for a new manager and not be taken in by what will be a noisy section of support to appoint Steve and / or Neil if we win the next three games

If after due process Steve Thompson / Neil Redfearn is the standout candidate then so be it

  2. Its really simple this

We must recruit someone who has done something our club has not done for over 30 years

A Manager that has actually won something, preferably a promotion

Nothing else will be good enough

Getting drawn into the nostalgia of previous players managing or giving someone their first chance in management is one of the reasons why we continue to fail

  3. Surely the OAFC fanbase can understand that a bloke when in his early 70's, with the drive and determination to row the 3,000 miles across the Atlantic to raise £1,000,000 for charity, just isn't going to fail to get our club back into the EFL

Frank writes the cheques whilst the Board manages the business side of the club

Like every driven CEO he will be all over the £numbers and business / team performance

He strikes me as an owner who will give someone every opportunity and support to succeed but will make changes if needed

I truly believe that our Club is in good hands and that we should trust Frank and his family with the future of our Football Club

Personally, whilst I appreciate that some fans don't like the Manager and some of our players, I think calling them out at games in the way some do, just undermines the rebuilding of our Club

I suspect you've had to shift through a lot of comments to find something that ties in with your narrative. We were shit.

    Apologies for the late response

There is an interview on TNT / BT Sport with James Norwood stating 'the lads worked really hard today and our tactics were to restrict their goal opportunities and try and get a goal on the break'

    https://www.tntsports.co.uk/football/vanarama-national-league/2023-2024/it-just-shows-what-spirit-we-ve-got-james-norwood-reacts-after-scoring-last-gasp-oldham-equaliser_vid1971640/video.shtml

    • After scoring 10 goals in their first 3 games we restricted them to just one
    • They had 3 shots on target, we had 3
    • They had 3 shots off target, we had 4

A very hard fought point in my book

  5. What's happening to us !

We draw 1-1 at the BOOKIES favourite for the League

Arguably our two best midfielders are out injured

Shamefully, Frank had to put up with fan anger, the wonderful man who saved our club

HATE for the Manager pouring out from the stands and all over Social Media

An extract from a post from a Chesterfield supporter:

"Thought Oldham looked okay and really well organised at the back and basically stopped us playing most of the game. Although we had most of the possession we didn't really create that many clear chances so a draw was a fair result in the end

It’s a messages board. . . one of its primary aims is to discuss rumours/things we’ve heard.

And yet we’ve got a poster above saying it’s ‘poison’ to post rumours.. .

    You’re saying it’s toxic. . .

    Dear me.

The only thing that’s wrong here is people’s massive over reaction to a thread on a message board.

Just an observation League One, am thinking maybe if you read my post a bit slower it might help pal

    Here you go:

"Up there as one of the daftest or most poisonous posts I have read on here and there has been some beauties"

whilst this attitude is admirable the poster doesn't really have a record for poison.

l only say this because l used to react like this when people tried to poison Abdallah early door and l was out there defending him, only to have a bit of egg on my face later.

its the type of stuff that wouldn't have been able to happen if reality didnt keep slapping hope and expectation about like a plastic bag in the wind 😔

Conor Ripley's comment 'lucky we have a game tuesday' will also be playin a massive part in all of our antsyness.

remember that time lain Dowie invented 'bouncebackability'? we best have a truck full of it if Rhino wants a tenable job by September.

    Fair response Monty

I stuck with Unsy all last season and whilst the football was dreadful, I understood the need to play for points in the second half of the season

We went to Southend on Saturday and soon as we saw the starting X1 it was pretty obvious we were in for a grueller

3-5-2 without the players to play it is madness and for a former Premier League Youth Coach to play a young centre back as a wing back without any cover was shocking

For me, the Club has made some really good signings pre-season which have added substantial experience and quality to the squad, so NO EXCUSES for us not challenging for the title

Both Dan Ward and Josh Lundstram made 46 appearances for their clubs last season but have broken down already for us, which is either really bad luck or maybe something in our training methods 'rumour'

Am giving Unsy and his Coaching team 10 games (1 already wasted) to deliver attractive attacking football and at the very least the team be in the top8 after those games

If he cant deliver that, we must cut our losses

I’m no ITK here but hear me out…

Someone who I speak to is friends with someone who works for Aldershot. He’s the same guy who told me before the fixtures were released that we played Aldershot at home 2nd game in…

The same guy was speaking to a football agent this morning about a (different) player and they got onto the subject of James Norwood.

Apparently his agent is already looking for a new club for him as he’s not happy whatsoever.

Like I said, take it as you want. Not trying to be a know-it-all here. But if there’s even an element of truth in this, something is seriously brewing internally.  Especially with the Peter Clarke training criticism rumours doing the rounds…..

Up there as one of the daftest or most poisonous posts I have read on here and there has been some beauties

Can live with a comment from Peter Clarke regarding the training regime (no documented confirmation seen by anyone of course) but a  seasoned player wanting a move from his new team after playing just 45mins for them, folk have to be very gullible to believe that

Sounds straight out of the 'Realistic Fans Group' does that

Not unhappy finishing 2nd behind @lookersstandandy who beat me by just 8Pts

Really happy I beat @nzlatic by 8pts despite him walloping me by 12pts in the guessing the attendance element of the competition

Think that's what's called 'throwing down the gauntlet' ⚽

after back to back promotions it was my first season in the Premier League and I came runner up to @lookersstandandy by 8pts who to be fair didn't have to rely on guessing the attendances to beat me

not the result I was looking for but not bad and well happy @nzlatic finished 8pts behind me in 3rd despite walloping me by 12pts in attendance guessing

Neil Joy was FD for a while then he took over from Alan Hardy as chief executive. Don't know if we had an FD inbetween then and Shahed although an organisation the size of Latics wouldn't necessarily need one they woukd need a Financial Controller and a couple of people working underneath them.

Just about anyone remotely involved in the accounting world would do a bank reconciliation as their fiirst task

Since when was an accountant a property valuation expert?

Fair point but this is the opinion of an ex Finance Director of the football club who has had to wade through the mess

Am not a property valuation expert but am pretty confident that an ex football league club with a stadium that needs at least a £million spending on it to bring it up to a decent standard just isnt going to be worth more than c£3m at best,

Blitz landed here in 2003 but ‘stood back’ as owner in 2010 and still hasnt been able to find a buyer which magnifies how bonkers recent ‘valuation estimates’ are

Regarding the shocking revelation from Shahed that under the Corney regime no bank reconciliations had been completed  for 6 years, is there anyone still involved with the club who was in a position of influence throughout that period ?

  13. Reading the thread I'm now wondering if I listened to the same one but here goes

One of the best BPAS podcasts so far for me, thanks Andy

Stand outs for me, well to be honest, all I heard really:

    • No bank reconciliations under the previous regime before the Lemsagams is off the scale shocking
    • Even more uncertainty about when Blitz got involved, especially after Paul Whitehead and Simon Brooke stated on an earlier BPAS podcast that Blitz only got involved when the groundworks and steel had gone into the North Stand build
    • Interesting that Shahed stated the club in his opinion are right to pursue the North Stand ownership in the courts, mentioning a clause in the documentation on transfer of ownership
    • Couldn't breathe with laughing so much on his response to the question put to him regarding valuations

              "Both valuations are bullshit"

"The ground and land isn't worth £6m or £5m, maybe £4m and anyone paying £6m has got too much money"

"Anyone paying £1 for the club and badge is paying a £1 too much"

    • Shamed stated Abdallah hates Paul Whitehead and Simon Brooke and reckons vice versa (no surprise there I guess) but it pretty much rules out any concessions being negotiated in the best interest of our supporters

    What a f>*kin mess eh

Am well looking forward to the Legends game though, cant wait to get a glimpse again of the truly magical David Eyres

Oh, Barry 'Vladamir' Putin calling us all "Rebels" was an absolute gift to our supporters, the man just keeps on feeding us

Two points I will pick up form other threads:

    1. Can shares be issued in return for fan contributions?

    2. Can contributions be paid back if it becomes clear that none of the proposed plans/objectives will come to fruition?

Appreciate issuing shares can be complicated

Maybe a ‘reognition’ certificate for amounts donated over £x or £y (to be decided) for some supporters to frame.

That shouldnt be beyond the wit of man

Dmaarms says the source is still in place and believes less than 600 ST have been sold. An announcement of the opening of the NS is expected in the next few days/next week, and the early bird prices will be extended.. Are they panicking now?

Can see S/T sales being around 750 with all the uncertainty

Read somewhere that Stockport had sold 1,000 a few weeks back

It’ll be interesting to see if DMaarms insider information continues or dries up

Sadly less baffling nowadays as history repeats itself.

You're either an apologist for the regime, or you carry the can for the decisions and seemingly inevitable failures of said regime.

As NA was the former, she seems to have fallen on her sword for the latter.

    too simplistic that singe

    Managing Director Natalie

    1. How creative and effective was she in her role as a Managing Director ?

    2. How creative and effective was she allowed to be in her role as a Managing Director ?

    3. Why ‘move her on’ 3 days before the start of the season ?

    4. Was she the ‘senior club official’ leak, fairly regularly quoted by DMaarns on twitter 🤔

    New CEO Karl Evans

    1. Why appoint the CEO of Bury FC who who was quoted in The Times as stating:

’Big egos and a spendthrif mindset sent Bury into the abyss’

    2. Bury FC announcement of his appointment is far more detailed than ours and does promote his achievements and expertise

    https://www.buryfc.co.uk/news/2017/january/statement--karl-evans-appointed-new-ceo/

Without his time served under Steve Dale, I can see his CV stacks up for a League Two senior board appointment but his Bury years do make him an odd choice to work under our current owner

If you started your job or after April 6 2012 you can only make a claim for unfair dismissal if you've worked for your employer for more than two years. NA was in post for just over 15 months.

    Mark

I would think that Natalie would have the protection of a contract having taken up the position of Managing Director so will be expecting to be paid her contractual notice period

3 days before a season starts is a strange time to make senior board member changes

Was NA the mystery ‘senior club source’ of DMaarms on Twitter maybe 🤔

    Plot thickens . . .
