  1. nonaenever Most Football Supporters can only dream of being part of running their Club, albeit for a relatively small investment (not saying £5,000 isn't an insignificant amount of money to most people but in football terms it isn't) As you have alluded to, the contributing supporters would appoint a number of fellow contributing supporters to the Board to be actively involved with the running of our Club Obviously very early days but what an opportunity if it can be brought to fruition
  2. Early days I know but what a great start What an offer, to allow our Supporters to buy a 75% interest in our Club Course we will need more details but you can put me down for £5,000
  3. Cannot be any justified reason not to participate fully with concise responses if the questions are offered well in advance of the meeting
  4. nonanever No sarcasm or unhelpful messages so far in response from your opening post which shows how serious the topic is to everyone Don't know who you are but for what its worth, personally I think you've played a blinder and your obvious commitment and passion for our Club is admirable For me the number of questions need to be significantly reduced to ensure it doesn't feel like an inquisition, so a small number (maybe 10-12 'key questions') that focus on the majority of supporters main concerns which are the finances of the Club. if we cant qualify our financial circumstances, all our other questions matter less.
  5. Everyone at the Club has had 2 weeks to get ready for today Above everything else, Its what we do isn't it And we're the only Club in the Football League who cant fulfil our fixture No revenue and I'd expect there will still be bills to pay despite the postponement It's not bad luck or the Refs fault, its simply total incompetence
  6. yarddog73 Despite you appearing on OWTB as a 'serial cynic' I used to at least read your posts and try to consider your opinions / views You've been well found out by continuing your 'bluster' For me you've lost any credibility at all
  7. Usual 'serial cynics' at it again Well done Latics I genuinely think its a really positive response to our Supporters Down to the players now to put an extra shift in starting this weekend Was thinking about giving the Doncaster game a miss but I'm definitely going now Looking forward to a good run of performances and a few wins at Home Here's hoping for a 'Fortress BP' were Teams really don't like coming
  8. Message to the Club: Well done Latics for at least asking the Supporters what we think You're not going to win over 'the serial sceptics' whatever you do and for me no real surprises in the survey results but you've done absolutely the right thing in trying to engage with us and confirming our concerns / views. Over 1,000 responses clearly demonstrates a lot of 'stay away' fans are still 'emotionally attached' to OAFC (or we have a c30% of our Home crowd support responding to the survey, which just doesn't happen) However, now you've asked what we think, you really do need to action some plans to try and address our concerns or you risk further alienating our Fans / Supporters
  9. Just completed the survey It's fairly easy chucking out an on-line survey but a far more difficult challenge to get some positive actions / options from it If the Club is genuinely serious about improving engagement with its Supporters and committing to improving our Match Day experience, they should publish (in a fairly timely manner) an overview of the Survey as a start point Fingers Crossed we're at the dawning of a new age
  10. We're about to find out that many senior football household names have been avoiding paying their taxes by receiving undeclared payments Evidence from The Telegraph will be passed on to HRMC and they will be prosecuted. The blame for this lies firmly with the recipients of the undeclared payments, simple as for me With all the money swimming around the Football fraternity its a disgrace Hopefully a few wont blight the whole of our national sport
  11. deyres42 post (today 08.57) Football management accepting undeclared payments to deliberately avoid paying taxes is linked in some way to the current political climate !! wtf
  12. I bought 9 tickets yesterday for the Bury game and was informed we had sold well under 1000 A few years ago we would have smashed the 1800 allocation Could be wrong but my guess is we will be well down on what we would normally take
  13. underdog I checked out the TrustOldham website yesterday and the few information pages I checked appear to be either incomplete or out of date The Who's Who tab for example was incomplete I completed an online form to advise you but didn't get a confirmation receipt
  14. rudemedic and oafc1955, I'm saying that given a few people might have been working etc and taking your point on many a poor player getting to wear our shirt in recent years, with it being the first home game of the season with new management and a totally new team and it being Jimmy Frizzell Day, 3500 is abysmal To be frank, I guess I was hoping for just a glimmer that we can change things round I do like the appointment of Steve Robinson and that we have a totally fresh playing squad and of course the renaming of the Rochdale Road End (hated that name) to The Jimmy Frizzell Stand
  15. Disillusioned by on and off field events over the last few years is no excuse for only 3500 Oldham Athletic Fans turning out New Manager, entirely New Team, First Home League Game of the Season and the day headlined as Jimmy Frizzell Day, every true Oldham Athletic Fan should have turned up yesterday Apathy can be no excuse for not paying respect to such a Great Club Man and showing our new team management and players what they can expect to have supporting them should they do well on the pitch Apologies for the language but: Our fan base is f*$k^n lightweight !! We have only 3500 true fans and if that's all we have, how on earth do we expect to generate enough £s to build our future I've struggled myself in recent years with all that's been going on but I wouldn't have missed yesterday for anything
  16. You don't have to be a football genius to work this one out In our 20th Season in the same League, its highly likely we will start the 2017/18 Season again in League One Late push for the play offs hopefully, but despite the obvious strength of our new management team, I suspect it will be at the lower end of the table again
  17. opinions4u Guess that's one of the things that keeps us going to the footie People at the same game, supporting the same team, see different things Glad I'm not a Ref eh
  18. I was sat in the stand were a couple of fans give Cassidy some verbal mainly along the lines of telling him to use his size and strength and put some effort in (in fairness with a few f**ks chucked in) Maybe wrong of him but, Cassidy did respond, which for me at least showed some passion - didn't hear him telling anyone to f**k off Anyway on to the more important issues of the football we served up Early doors I know but . . . . Defence looked fragile with the free kick being conceded due to a foul trying to stop their forward who had skipped through 2-3 earlier attempted tackles Keeper had no chance of stopping the free kick from just outside the box and you have to question how we lined up the wall to defend it Attack wise, we had two headers which their keeper comfortably dealt with and none of us could recall a single shot on their goal Like I said, early doors but Steve Robinson has a right job on his hands just from our August games. Walsall and newly promoted Northampton at Home. Millwall Bury and Bradford Away Not good is it when you're thinking of scrambling for points v those teams Instead of getting more players in, I'd seriously be thinking of registering a wagon full of sandbags that we can build at the edge of our penalty area
  19. Really had my Club loyalty tested these last few months with everything that's going on, particularly with the shock (to me) departure of Sheridan after he saved us from the drop Got to the stage of deciding to pick my games that I thought worth attending both at Home & Away Cant explain how "f in brilliant" it feels this morning with the new Manager appointment Try as a might to kid myself I don't care anymore, OAFC in whatever guise is simply in my DNA "We get knocked down But We get up again You're never gonna keep us down" Smiling again
  20. "Can't smile wide enough" Much better than last seasons with a decent collar for a change Blue & White Home Kit - no one can complain at that (can they!) White & Blue Away Kit - well smart No Red
  21. Either by default or design, getting someone who has been part of getting Northern Ireland into the Euros sounds like a cracking candidate for making our team much more difficult to beat to me "Fortress Boundary Park" back on the cards
  22. Shefki, managing and motivating the team supported by Sean O'Driscoll looks a better option (and realistic) than anything else I've seen posted on OWTBs or on Social Media Finally, something encouraging
  23. Definitely not going to any of these games no matter who we are playing Hope that two Premier League U21s get into the Final at Wembley to play in front of a likely lowest Wembley attendance ever WTF is happening to Football
  24. I'm just gonna put my head in the sand and hope it all goes away n we start the new season with a few amazing signings secured by John Sheridan and a supportive Board
