  1. If the performances were generally good, but the results were indifferent I could accept the time argument. However, we look more lethargic under Scholes than we ever did under Bunn and Wild. Whatever stage of a season, or whatever the quality of player, being able to motivate the squad is a prerequisite. How is a player of his stature not seemingly able to motivate them for 90 minutes, particularly so early in his reign? It’s very strange IMO. We all know the squad is poor, but we don’t seem to be doing the non ability stuff, like workrate, and desire. Is he getting the best out of them? They say teams play in the mould of their manager. Well we just look tired, and half arsed.
  2. What’s people’s initial take? IMO It’s a concern so early in his tenture how much people are saying we look lacklustre. I know the squad isn’t great. But how can our play be so insipid, and bereft of fight? We don’t look like what I imagined a Scholes side would look like. Yes. Yes. It’s only been 6/7 games. It’s. Paul. Scholes! How dare I comment on him so early etc etc. However i I think it’s worth debate. If we limp on till the end of season, which looks very likely. Do people genuinely feel excited about next season? I don’t. While we do have a maniac owner, there hasn’t even been a ‘Paul Scholes bounce’ we also have a manager who is making excuses very early, and his team look disinterested. Has reality bitten for Scholes???? Even with a few (of his own) signings in the summer, are people confident in his ability to get the best out of a group? YOU DONT NEED TO POST HOW OFFEENED YOU ARE AT THIS POST. I ONLY WANT TO HAVE A NATTER. IF YOU DISAGREE; PUTTING ‘FFS’ ISNT NECESSARY.
  3. Agreed. Give an opinion people don’t agree with. . 1. FFS. 2. Tell said person to give ‘their head a wobble’ for disagreeing with you. Use ‘Wow.’ At the start of their response to your post when there is nothing amazing about your comment. 3. Pick up on spelling/grammer. (A particular highlight for me.) 4. Use obscure quotes, to deflect from their original point, and to give the post an elevated sense of intelligence. 5. USE CAPITAL LETTERS BECAUSE YOU OBVIOUSLY CANT READ. 6. FFS. Because you didn’t get it the first time round.
  4. I think it’s unbundatley clear AL doesn’t have the funds. He couldn’t afford to buy all the ground. He threw some money at it for six months, then got rid of nearly every high earner we had. We’ve signed one player of real quality. (Baxter) The rest are bang average at best. I think a lot of apathy around is the realisation, that unless any manager can can work miracles with average players, we’ll be where we are (or worse) for a long time. Put simply you need a decent budget, and good recruitment. We have neither.
  5. Ironic that the only recent manager you rate, had by far the biggest budget of our last four managers, and we still got relegated. You say it’s the worst team in your lifetime, but at the same time it was all Bunn’s fault.
  6. There is no quick fix. I’ve been asked by a lot of people if I’m chuffed with Scholes appointment. An there’s this strange sense of Meh. Not because he isn’t a coup, but because I don’t see him being given full autonomy on signings, or indeed half decent backing. I’m still gobsmacked he’s taken it. IMO he’s on hiding to nothing. To have good football, you need good footballers. An we only have a handful. They must all play well all the time, for us to be a threat. The rest are limited cloggers. An we wonder why under different managers the football isn’t great. We we have an average squad with average strikers. (Lang apart) It’s not rocket science why we are where we are. Should of stuck with Bunn, because quite honestly he was for the most part getting the best of this average squad. All while losing his number 2, and being constantly undermind by the owner.
  7. Mmmmm. I couldn’t get my head around why Scholes would want the job. No money/ erratic owner etc etc. However if he had whisper of potential investment, it would make a lot more sense. .
  8. It does feel a happier place, and It still feels a bit surreal that he’s the manager. However it remains to be seen if AL can keep his neb out of team affairs. Lets hope so.
  9. Kinell. The idea isn’t far fetched. The reality of that happening is pur fantasy. So you think a commercial venture, will pay vastly over the odds. Knock down a new 7 million pound stand. Then have the spare change left to build what they want. I reckon all of that would only cost 30million plus. All while enjoying the wonderful PR that comes with booting 100+year football club out of its home. Yeah. Ok.
  10. Denial of what????? No football club? Some more land gone? What are we all missing Andy. That your so enlightened to? Your not in the negotitations. You don’t have any clue about the inner workings of any proposed offer/counter offer. Yet you talk like it’s happening right now. (We’re about to lose everything.) Your scaremonging with literally nothing to back it up, other than what if’s.
  11. So. . They want to sell. We have six months to put a bid together. We assume it’s the north stand? If the fans can’t buy them out. The world will end. Boundary Park will Burn. An we’ll all be nomads wandering the lower leagues. Or. They quote their vastly overpriced stand to the commercial market - they laugh. An say come back with something more realistic. They won’t sell at market value. Meanwhile another 4 years has passed, and we’re 17th in league one.
  12. Your stating again Andy like it’s happening. Or is about to. What evidence have you got that this is their plan? IF that happens, then we can have the discussion. At the minute your speculating without any evidence to back your point.
  13. Ifs buts and maybes. We can only concern ourselves with the now. Im interested in questions/answers that could help the club directly or indirectly now. Not what might happen in x number of years. We’ve got enough on our plate.
  14. We carry on with the status quo, until someone can afford to buy Abdallah and them out.
  15. Genuine question. What’s people’s gut feel on wether he’s cut out for management? I hope he inspire’s the players, gets them playing nice football. An tells the chairman to do one. I fear that very quickly, he’ll think/realise his personality isn’t enough to deal with the shitstorm of managing us.
