  1. Just watched Banide after match interview and it was so awkward! It’s three league games in and he looks a broken man with no idea how to make things better. He kept looking around as he spoke, he looked jittery, kept talking about reaction. The problem is, even if he were to be sacked or walk, I don’t think it will make much difference as ultimately as long as AL and ML are in charge, interfering with football matters, being responsible for this mad recruitment of players the fundamental problems and Crux of the matter will remain the same. To keep having Sefil and Vera anywhere near a professional football club first team is basically football suicide
  2. Not the coaches fault as such as he’s been offered the job but I struggle at times to understand what he’s talking about in his interviews so what must it be like for the players? The likes of Vera and Sefil should not be anywhere near a professional football team Nepo has to be one of if not the best player in the squad yet he’s on the bench and Branger plays?????? Mouche captain.....come on please! How on earth we let Pete Wild and his assistant go I will never ever know, passion, enthusiasm, desire, and organisation, all qualities we are missing. The club is seriously in trouble this season
  3. If that’s true I guess he was desperate to get out which tells a story in itself This time of the year should be excitement and hope about the new season, instead, it’s fear and dread
  4. Peter Clarke despite maybe coming to the tail end of his career is a big loss not having been offered a deal. He played a big part in Edmundsons development and is still better than the centre back options currently available at the club. I find it staggering he wasn’t given a one year deal. The thought of Sefil being a regular sends a shudder through my spine and Stott and Iacovitti still have so much to learn. Clarke might have helped their development had he been offered a deal.
  5. Is there anymore news on what’s happened to Mick Priest and Chris Millington or have I missed an announcement on them?
  6. It’s not his fault that his English isn’t great so I’m not critical of him as such but I found that really hard listening which makes me worry how the players will find it. I also feel that in any league two side you need a bigger percentage of British players who know the leagues here but I worry that despite Mills and Woods signing there will be a bigger number of foreign players, I hope I’m wrong. i had to laugh at ML whispering about team spirit in his ear
  7. So with just over two weeks until pre season and no manager and backroom staff appointed does anyone know who might take the training for the existing players as with Wild gone as well who steps up now?
  8. When foreign managers come into the premiership, or even some degree the championship, at those levels it’s easier for those managers to know more about the leagues as they are so high profile and can be watched anywhere in the world these days. There is also a fair chance that foreign signings of the highest calibre will likely work out in terms of recruitment at that level. Im not so sure the same thought process can be applied at League Two level. I think it would be very tough for a foreign manager to come in at this level. He would need a good deal of time to get to know and actually understand the level. Likewise in terms of player recruitment, taking lower league foreign players and trying to put them into league two again wouldn’t be easy, trying to work out if they will be able to adapt. in my opinion we need a British manager, somebody who has experience in leagues one or two or I wouldn’t be against giving a National League Manager a chance, somebody hungry to prove themselves in the league. It needs a manager who understands what type of player and character is needed in league two in the north of the country on a cold and wet November evening at Carlisle Utd away. As somebody else has stated, why on earth does it take this long given the time it’s been since Scholes left or even to when Wild left I would hazard a guess this may well be affecting season ticket sales as there will likely be people who don’t want to commit their hard earned money when they have no idea what the prospects look like for the season ahead so they will hold off.
  9. Most players contracts expire at the end of June, so if they are joining us at the end of their contract we can still effectively sign them now with the contract commencing 1st July so no we wouldn’t have to pay them while on holiday as such. The point I have made is that it worries me that we have no manager in place, no pre season preparations and no new signings appearing to me being made just under 3 weeks before the start of pre season, which I feel is important. If that doesn’t worry you fine, we simply have different opinions and you are more laid back than me as it does worry me, that’s all
  10. Other teams would be better prepared then, as I said that’s my worry. The league starts earlier this year, teams have 6 weeks for pre season, that’s why they would start on the 24th June this season so if we have less preparation time there’s a good chance we will be less prepared than the other teams
  11. Footballers don’t get paid in June you are saying....... think you need to ask some then, non league semi pro or amateur no but full time professionals yes!
  12. Firstly a football club should budget for wages to be paid for 52 weeks of the year, players and staff, it’s a job, like any other industry, what are people supposed to do in the off season, get another job? Secondly most teams will be reporting back around the 24th June, not the 1st July as season starts sooner. Thirdly the manager and his coaching team would have to plan training schedules which may include a training camp overseas, something you can’t just book at a weeks notice when you consider possible venues, travel arrangements etc so it wouldn’t just be a case of appointing a manager on a Sunday and the whole squad are back in on the Monday.
  13. Yeah I kind of think that maybe their thinking but it’s still not good preparation
  14. So it’s the 3rd June today, from reading articles on news pages of other clubs, it would appear a number of teams start pre season training on the 24th June so exactly 3 weeks today. So far no manager/head coach or backroom team has been appointed and barely any new signings. “Fail to Prepare.....Prepare to Fail”
  15. So as a Head Coach AL and ML would sign the players but the Head Coach would coach the players your saying What style of football was there last season as if I’m honest, I couldn’t see a defined style in our play as such, it seemed a bit of passing and a bit of going direct, I couldn't say we were defined one way or the other. Perhaps there will be a way this coming season
  16. How would you define the difference between a Manager and a Head Coach? Manager signs players he wants, picks his team and tactics, Head Coach just coaches a team of players signed by owner and has less say in team and tactics?
  17. I cannot see the team going away on a training camp because to book something like that I’d imagine you need to do so a number of weeks in advance. At the moment there is no manager and backroom team and no new signings and it’s nearly June. Id just be happy to see some decisions made on who is in charge
  18. Mid June? Teams will be starting back in the last week of June, that pre season has to be planned, opposition, training camp away perhaps as many teams do, trying to make signings (other clubs have already started signing players so we could be missing out on signings by not acting quickly enough)
  19. With everything that went on last season, it’s really worrying that there is no manager or backroom team in place yet, therefore delaying recruitment plans (though perhaps AL and ML are doing that!!) and no work seems to be taking place on the pitch either. There is slowly slowly and there is grind to a halt!
  20. I don’t know why you think Miller got involved, my sons friend said it was just between AL and FB, players weren’t involved. AL let IM go as he was only on a week to week contract and I’m guessing didn’t rate him as AL then brought some players in such as Afolayan, Dearnley and the infamous Vera.

  22. To stand any chance of still making the play offs (unlikely I know) we need to win an absolute minimum of 3 out of the 4 games left so I’d like to see us give it a right go with as an attacking a line up as we can possibly muster with the players we have available, 4-3-3 get it forward into the front three. May as well have a right crack at it and go out all guns blazing, draws are of no use so may as well lose trying to win it as play out two draws like the last couple of games. We won three games in a week previous to that so it is possible with the right belief and desire
  23. Missilou and Sylla as a pair hasn’t worked before in a game, too similar so that would be worrying
