leeslover
Agree with most of them, but: Earl Barrett or Fitz Hall I would also go for Andy Goram or Satan and his Infernal Hordes, or possibly (just) even Richard Branson

But was a beacon of quality in otherwise dire time, been here longer, potentailly a very good manager. Redders - one season of brilliance and the ultimate finish, but Shez has done more) BEFORE MY TIME - my Dad raves about Fryatt. Barlow (tough call, but Pudding on a Muffin and the fact he was from Oldham swings it - though Irwin must be one of the best players to have ever played for us in terms of what he acheived in his entire career) Halle (Bad teeth, commitment, played in our best ever team) Gerrard (would have been Goram apart from that Cardiff game - still scarred by that game)

DerekWilson_1968
Rick Holden or Davied Eyres Joe Royle or Jimmy Frizzell Luke Beckett or Chris Porter - easily capable of matching CPs scoring record if he could have stayed fit. Would have loved LB here 2 years earlier. Earl Barrett or Fitz Hall (though given the choice it would be Clint Hill) Neil Kilkenny or Richie Wellens Wayne Andrews or Jermaine Johnson Ronnie Jepson or Phil Starbuck - Must we- God no! OK then Rickers! Sean Garnett or Guy Branston - purely for being an amusing drunk Roger Palmer or Frankie Bunn - pah! like there is any choice, sorry Frank, it could have been anyone against Rog and you all lose. Neil Redfern or John Sheridan Jim Fryatt or David Shaw - only ever saw Shaw and that was at the end of his Latics career and the start of mine. Not really much opinion to be honest. Dennis Irwin or Andy Barlow Toddy Orlygsson or Gunnar Halle Andy Goram or Paul Gerrard KtF, Derek.
martjs
Rick Holden or David Eyres Joe Royle or Jimmy Frizzell - tough one but it has to be JR for the "Pinch Me" era Luke Beckett or Chris Porter Earl Barrett or Fitz Hall Neil Kilkenny or Richie Wellens Wayne Andrews or Jermaine Johnson Ronnie Jepson or Phil Starbuck - hmmm... Sean Garnett or Guy Branston Roger Palmer or Frankie Bunn - attacking midfielder c.f. out and out striker? I can't choose - our fortunes dramatically changed when Bunn arrived. Neil Redfern or John Sheridan Jim Fryatt or David Shaw - Never saw Fryatt Dennis Irwin or Andy Barlow Toddy Orlygsson or Gunnar Halle Andy Goram or Paul Gerrard - first time around obviously. oafcprozac
Rick Holden or David Eyres - Ricky was the best crosser I have ever seen, but Eyresy gave us some quality after years of ! Joe Royle or Jimmy Frizzell - Uncle Joe for me as Frizz was before my time Luke Beckett or Chris Porter - Beckett by a mile, He would have score 30-35 last season no danger Earl Barrett or Fitz Hall - Barrett by a mile an insult to compare them, not in the same League Neil Kilkenny or Richie Wellens - Both jumped up little gob:censored:es, but Wellens dictates a game. KK trys to win it on his own Wayne Andrews or Jermaine Johnson - Wayno just Ronnie Jepson or Phil Starbuck - Rocket was finding some form, but spat his dummy out and walked when Whitehall arrived. Shaun Garnett or Guy Branston - Garnett great servant, much needed experience in a young team after Redmond and Fleming bailed. Roger Palmer or Frankie Bunn - The Dodger or 'Mr. Reliable' as the owd fella deemed him. Neil Redfearn or John Sheridan - Shez, different types of players but without the guile of Shez we'd be playing in the Conference. Jim Fryatt or David Shaw - Before my time, but Shaw was here longer and in two spells Dennis Irwin or Andy Barlow - Andy Barlow, OLdham lad eats puddin' on a muffin. He'll do for me! Toddy Orlygsson or Gunnar Halle - Gunnar, great servant Andy Goram or Paul Gerrard - Andy Goram, forget March-April '02, kept many games respectable Edited February 6, 2008 by oafcprozac

boundaryblue80
Rick Holden or Davied Eyres - Not old enough to remember Holden enough, but know enough and seen enough from glimpses that he takes it over Eyres Joe Royle or Jimmy Frizzell - Royle...without doubt Luke Beckett or Chris Porter - Porter....but if Beckett hadn't the fitness issues in his career holding him back, it'd be a photo finish Earl Barrett or Fitz Hall - Again, didn't see enough of Earl, but seen enough and heard enough on Vids. To be honest, ya can't compare some of these....as the levels they played at in their time are different Neil Kilkenny or Richie Wellens - Lol....everysingle:censored:ingday! The day KK can be injured and do a Bradford away, then maybe.... Wayne Andrews or Jermaine Johnson - Can't believe the post originator has JJ over Andrews....lol....maybe in another lifetime, not this one Ronnie Jepson or Phil Starbuck - I think general consensus is that Starbuck is THE WORST player ever to have worn the shirt Sean Garnett or Guy Branston - Mr no nonsense vs Mr No sense at all......and the winner is.... Roger Palmer or Frankie Bunn - Tight one, but has to be Palmer....again, just too young to be able to say my definitive view and Bunn is the nicest guy you'll ever meet (Palmer might be too) but on the pitch, Palmer is the main man Neil Redfearn or John Sheridan - Hmmmm....anyone who has the balls and the ability to do what Redders did....step up and score, is the ultimate legend....only title we've won in decades thanks to one man, in one moment, in one single second of destiny. Ok, Shez gave away the pen, but Redders had to score it... Jim Fryatt or David Shaw - Can't comment Dennis Irwin or Andy Barlow - By all accounts, Irwin....too young again for a full opinion, but from videos and how my older mates talk if Irwin hadn't gone to them, I think some would still talk about him as one of the greatest ever. Toddy Orlygsson or Gunnar Halle - Halle...everytime....absolute hero of mine when I was a kid. Andy Goram or Paul Gerrard - Again, it's my older mates who tell me about Goram and the odd snippet, but any Latics fan has to forget his 2nd stint here....his 1st stint, he was (I'm told) awesome. Ha....I wasn't going to do this till I saw the 1st 3 foolishly went for Kilkenney over Wellens....hahaha....nice to see KK has brought the "home effect" too Leeds now...as I expected. Dennis Irwin and Andy Barlow - you need a left back and a right back - Dennis has it over Gunnar not Toddy Orlygsson or Gunnar Halle Andy Goram or Paul Gerrard
