This is a cock-up of such major proportion that I feel justified in changing my description to the often wrong Chron from now onwards. I'm sure even BigFin can't defend this one!

do you not think that the title is implying that because we lost away,we lost ground on the top six clubs, meaning we moved down a couple of places

ie-"latics loss away to brighton meant that they lost valuble ground on the top six clubs, making it harder for them to qualify for the end of season play off spots"

just a thought

To be fair to Yarwood it appears to be a member of the I.T. staff responsible for this one.

If you weren't all so foolish as to be suckered in by the frivolous notion that there is life beyond Mumps Bridge you would have a hard copy and know that it says 1-0. It's no mistake, it's all part of the conspiracy to starve you deserters of the truth. All these "rarely wrong," "Titanic sinks" cheap laughs at the Chron's expense just make me smile. Little do you know the joke is on you.

It was 1-0 but that's the last 'insider' info you're getting off me.

I think this is brilliant... its the new Chron policy to make everything sound better than it actually is... take a rubbish game, add a couple of goals, and hey presto, its an end to-end three goal thriller....

Next week, in better than life reporting:

- Oldham is European Capital of Culture 2009

- Glodwick overtakes Sandbancks as the 'UK's most desirable housing location'

- Latics win at Port Vale

As always... the Chron is a visionary publication....

I see now.....the idea of the often wrong online Chron is to lull those Oldhamers who only read it on t'internet, into thinking that they ought to get down to BP on Tuesday night on the back of another away victory.

I promise not to comment on the attendance!

The attendance will be low D_S.

A cold windy Tuesday night in February, what more excuse do the apathetic Oldham public need, added to probably very few travelling up from Swindon midweek.

Not much over 4,000 would be my very confident prediction.
