24 Leyton Orient-21 (8)

This shows that as a generality the teams that use fewer players seem to be the teams towards the top of the division, at least in the this division. There is only one team in the top 6 who have used more than 26 players. Only 4 teams in the lower half of the table have used have used less than 30 players. Also 5 of the bottom 7 have used at least 36 players including 3 of the 4 teams in the relegation zone.

Simple game football - get good players, and then get your best players on the pitch together more often than not and you do well.

Ooh what a surprise. You keep your players fit and don't mess about with the team too much then you find yourself at the right end of the table. Amazin' innit? Doubt it'll catch on though.

We used 36 players last season (Inc about 8 goalies  ) and the season before 28 players.

It's a worthwhile stat that Exile. And I know stats can work out any way you want them to. However, when we were at our most successful last season we stuck with the same 11 or 12 players in the starting line-up. Once injuries and suspensions bit in that's when we started to struggle.

Keep a settled team and you will find success.

When Luton went up from this division a few years ago I heard that they had one staggering statistic.....for 45 out of the 46 league games that season, they fielded the same 10 out of 11 players that had started the previous league game. So from week to week, there was only 1 change (ok, it probably was a different player that was being changed) but it's amazing that only 1 time did they have to change 2 players from the starting 11 in the previous game.

Yeah, it goes without saying with a settled side, everyone knows their jobs and each others game. And as long as you keep that core of players together you can maybe have a couple of players slotting in positions when the need arises.

Last season we went on a super run from October through to February and in that time we never made a lot of changes to the side. But after that, when injuries and suspensions bit we huffed and puffed to get results and lost our momentum.

Good Stat BB , that would be season >>2004/05<<

Out of a possible 46 League appearances 9 players made appearances of 37 or more.

In our promotion season 90/91 we used a total of 22 players that season which included 6 players with two apperances.

Out of the other 16 , two players Halle and Paul kane only played the second half of the campaign :)

........and while I am on a role

In our promotion season 73/74 we used a total of 18 players that season of which Hateley had 1 start.
