Now you're talking! can knopfler play the guitar or what?

Yeah he's amazing. His finger picking style gives him such a unique sound and he gets so much out of the notes he plays despite being much more minimalist than many others. The outro from 'Tunnel of Love' off the Making Movies album is pretty incredible.

eee, this is proper music. You can't beat a bit of shoegazing, more pedals than a church organ.

A Storm in Heaven is a class album. Addictive as hell, great to get high to.

Although my favourite Verve song has to be from their B-Side Album "No Come Down":

"One Way To Go"

I had the most amazing dream to that song. Mesmerising.

I've loved them from the first time All In The Mind was on the chart show Indie chart run down, brilliant song. Loads of stuff got lumped together around that time, Ride, Lush, Curve, Slowdive.... Used to live 2 doors down from a girl who was the spitting image of Toni Haliday from Curve. Met her again 10 years later through a friend of a friend, turned out she had always wanted a slice and despite the pair of us spending a fair part of the 10 years in between in the pie shop we made up for lost time.

The The - This Is The Day

Soul Mining is one of my favourite albums of all time. I bought it on vinyl in 1987, and I can honestly say it's one of the few albums that fall into the bracket of never being off my "turntable". I've played it a regular basis since I bought it. A real classic.

My newly established (hoping for a hot summer) chill-out playlist:

Nanta Hama - The Surf Champlers

- Engineers

- Flotation Toy Warning

Blessa - Toro Y Moi

Road To Recovery (Acoustopia Mix) - Midnight Juggernauts

- Grizzly Bear (disconcertingly superb video)

Revolution Blues - Neil Young

The Dark - Woods (no YouTube, but such an awesomely laid back tune it's worth hunting down)

New Theory - Washed Out

Sunshine Hair - Sunset

Hope - Twine (eerie as hell)
