Diego_Sideburns
As it was only a friendly last night there was no singing or chanting (apart from the booing of Savage), but credit where it's due....Franny had arranged for Mouldy Old Dough and Guns of Navarone to be played in accordance with the poll result. The PA system was much louder in the Chaddy but still sounded garbled - during the game you could hear the humming sound of the speakers because the volume had been turned up higher than ever before. Franny announced something about the European Championships, and then both teams walked out and lined up as they do in International matches and the Greedy League. This seemed to me to be a contrived way of finding an excuse to play Seven Nation Army by White Stripes, which was also played after half-time - regardless of the poll result. Tonight against Hull, the teams came out to Seven Nation Army. Then when on the pitch Mouldy Old Dough was played briefly. The players were then brought back into a line for the hand-shake malarkey like they have in the Greedy League - this will provide Gregan with a chance to break a few fingers for starters. During the half-time break Guns of Navarone was played at length and then it was played when we scored. When the teams came out for the second half, Seven Nation army was played again. So despite the poll result leading to an opportunity for us to have unique music, it seems that Seven Nation Army will feature greatly, just as it will at many grounds, copying the Euro 2008 example. I say hats off to the Latics management for having better taste than the majority of Latics fans. Im sorry if I upset a few on here but MOD is cringe worthy. johnny punkster
whats the point of playing a 20 sec snippet of seven nation army at random moments? its not even the right part...it should be the bit when jack goes ape with the guitar! its seems also they've got the quieter part of guns too...use the last chorus!
