Ak's11 Posted August 15, 2008 Share Posted August 15, 2008 You beat us on the 1st January,which was the worst run all season. Poyet had left and Wise brought in Dave Bassett for that 6 week period. Every team that month had played better than us at that time and we were falling off the perch. It wasn't until McAllister came in 3 weeks later when the shape of the team picked up, even then he was playing with Dennis Wise's players until the end of the 07/08 season. Now we have a team that is 50% better than last season and probably 75% better than around the time you beat us. Time will only tell but I know where my money is going tomorrow. To be fair we did damn well even to get into the final seeing as we were held back at the start of the season. Ok maybe 15 points was deserved but its not nice punishing the fans. Donny were the better team on the day and I think they will do well in the CCC too but thats down to their manager who is a credit to them. Sooner or later he will go to a better championship team or even the premier league and Doncaster will be back down but in the meantime they deserve to go up, ive no quarms about that at all. Can't see us getting anything from this game, but I thought that before the game on New Years Day so who knows!! Personally I'll be more than happy with a hard earned draw tomorrow.
