not wanted in hong kongConvicted child molester Gary Glitter has been denied entry to Hong Kong after flying there from Thailand, the Foreign Office says.

Earlier the shamed rocker refused to be flown to London.

He made the decision after Thai police brushed aside his claims of ear and heart problems and said he would be put on the first available plane to London whether he liked it or not.

The 64-year-old, real name is Paul Gadd, flew to Bangkok after being thrown out of Vietnam at the end of nearly three years in jail for sexually abusing two girls.

Apparently fearful of the hostile reception he is likely to receive in Britain, where he has served time for child pornography offences, he avoided boarding the connecting flight to London by claiming he was too sick to fly.

After conducting medical checks and letting him wander, officially "persona non grata", for nearly 24 hours inside Bangkok airport, Thailand's immigration chiefs ran out of patience.

In a statement they said: "We are barring entry to Paul Francis Gadd and will be deporting him to his home country, England, unconditionally and even if he does not wish to board the plane.

"We are now waiting to return him to England as soon as possible."

The sickly former glam-rocker stayed overnight in a VIP section of the transit area at Bangkok airport, paying for a basic hotel room.

Andrew Drummond, a British journalist based in Thailand, told Sky News the Thai police had so far been reluctant to use force.

"If Glitter continues to refuse to leave he could be put in detention in Bangkok and the conditions in prison here are not very good at all, worse than in Vietnam," he said.

"Thai immigration chiefs have told Thai Airways to deal with him. They are talking to British authorities to try and get a deal to bring him back home.

"He has had access to British TV in his hotel and knows that if he does come back he might never be able to leave again.

"Thai airlines are looking for someone who would take him at the moment, but that is not an easy task.

"No one wants to inherit the problem that Thailand has at the moment."

Legal experts say the British authorities do not have the power to force Glitter back to the UK.

Karen Todner, an extradition lawyer, said he is solely under Thai jurisdiction at the moment.

"It is a very unusual situation. The Thai government will have to order his expulsion and do have the power to expel him," she said.

"We can't do anything to bring him back to the UK as he hasn't committed an offence in this country."

If Glitter does end up back in the UK, he will immediately be placed on the sex offenders register and closely monitored by press and police alike.

But police sources have questioned whether Britain has the resources it needs to prevent him re-offending.

The former head of Scotland Yard's paedophile unit Jim Reynolds told Sky News it will be difficult to monitor his movements.

"I suspect he will end up back here because he is a UK citizen. Everyone else has the right to refuse him, but we don't.

"As a former police officer I know that we have enough convicted sex offenders in this country as it is at the moment," he said.

"Although we have good legislation in this country to deal with these people, do we have sufficient resources?

"Monitoring might mean a weekly visit, but what about the rest of the time? Proper surveillance is too costly both in terms of time and money."

Home Secretary Jacqui Smith has said the Government will introduce tighter measures to control the movements of convicted paedophiles.

Children's charities want Glitter to be prevented from travelling overseas after he arrives back in the UK.

A date has been arranged for his return.

She's only 8 but looks like she's 11.

Sorry, I'll go and shoot myself now for posting that.

I thought the home secretary's quote was interesting: "we don't want him going overseas again to abuse children". There is a rather unfortunate implication of where he can abuse children in that statement.

Can we exile him to Burnley?

he is one sick :censored:er, hanging should come back for pests like him. I think somebody will get to him and he should be made to live in fear for the remainder of his life. Whilst on this rant i think everybody has a right to know if a peado lives in there area.

There will be one in your area, law of averages and all that. They might not be a convicted one or one who has physically abused or even share genetic material with crabs but there will be someone in your area who is sexually attracted to children.

Apparently they come in all guises - he/she might even be a pillar pillock of society.

Anyone heard the AC/DC song "Little Lover"? The story is as follows: the lead singer of a band spots a good looking chick in the front row, which leads to love. But is she legit? I confidently assume that the song is in jest, but it contains the lyric:

"You had my poster on your bedroom wall...next to Gary Glitter".

Did the rock fraternity know of Glitter's proclivities before everyone else, hence the joke?

Also, Mrs Tulse Hill tells me that Glitter used to hang around her school in Hampshire - she was fifteen at the time and well past it as far as he was concerned.

Hello, Hello. It's good to be back, it's good to be back

Hello, Hello. It's good to be back, it's good to be back

Did you miss me, Yeah, while Iwas away

Did you hang my picture on your wall

Did you kiss me, Yeah, every single day

Although you couldn't kiss me at all.

And did you love me,

Yeah, like a good little girl

Following a recent heart scare Gary Glitter has left instructions in case of his death.

On a more serious note, he should be used as target practice for fly fishermen. Tear the sick :censored:er to shreds.
