latics luvly
Nothing groundbreaking really ...........but as I was getting my Hartlepool tickets I saw Earl going into the main entrance along with Derek Hatton and (I presume) his wife. Mr.Hatton was saying something like ''as you're very well known and highly regarded here'', or words to that effect. Hmmmmmm......anyone shed any light on this??? Mr.Hatton was saying something like ''as you're very well known and highly regarded here'', or words to that effect. Hmmmmmm......anyone shed any light on this??? It was reported in the Liverpool Daily Post in May 2007 that Hatton has stated that he has recently rejoined the Labour Party and that he intends to seek selection as a parliamentary candidate in the North West. Hatton also says that his ambition is to be Deputy Leader of the Labour Party and that he would run for the office in the summer in the unlikely event of him being able to enter parliament via a by-election. Hatton made clear that he is no longer a Trotskyist, but maintains that he remains firmly on the left of the party, expressing his belief that Labour has to abandon 'New Labour' ideology (or "neo-Tory", as Hatton puts it) and return to its traditional values. Any MPs stepping down next time round? Hope not, a gobby Scouse Marxist Capitalist opinionated twatbag like him isn't ideal, even if Mr Barrett likes him. DerekWilson_1968
Hatton is going to re-invent himself as a football manager, though he will continue with his 'Loony Left' policies and play Taylor. Stab in the dark??????? KtF, Derek.

We could do with fewer negative nay-sayers at our, thank you Mr Matt Sorry Mr LeesLover, I just wasn't sure if Ms Luvly was au fait with loony left 80's miltant scouse politics and the Trotskyite protagonists involved. She's not the sharpest tool in the box you know. It could well have been Stan Boardman with Mr Barrett, we need ultimate clarification here. rosa
Hatton's a property developer now (he's got a pretty unconventional take on the concept of socialism), maybe he's getting involved in the property side of the ground redevelopment? F**king hope not, can't stand the arrogant publicity-seeking arsehole.
TafkaN
I once had an argument live on the radio with Derek Hatton on his phone in on Century 105.4 - he basically said that any father who was absent in a child's life (ie wasn't living with the mother) was a bad parent. I argued my point that my ex had left me for another man and I saw my daughter every week, provided for her and loved her, but the fact that I was "absent" according to his definition was black and white to the whiny little scouse arse.
