Guest sheridans_world
Seems like the right time to give everyone an 'refresher' on the transfer window. Taken from the FA.com The transfer window opens on the 1st January every season. This season it closes at 5pm on Monday the 2nd February, because the 31st January falls on a Saturday. January '08 there were 525 transfers involving English League clubs. There were only 26 transfers on the 1st January and 143 transfers on the last day of the window. Meaning that 27% of the business done was done on the last day. Thats more than the first 9 days of the window put together. January '07 there were 536 transfers There were only 26 transfers on the 1st January and 122 on the last day of the window. Meaning that just short of 23% of the business done was done on the last day. However this was more than just the first 6 days of the window put together. As a rule, the quietest days are always Sundays, with just three transfers happeneing on a Sunday in the last two January windows put together. Unsuprisingly the busiest day is the last day of the window. With a peak at the start and a peak at the end of the window. So expect the 10th to the 21st to be fairly quiet. As for Latics. January '08 31st David Livermore [Hull - Oldham] Loan 30th Neal Trotman [Oldham - Preston] £500,000 29th Jason Jarrett [Preston - Oldham] Loan 4th Marcus Holness [Oldham - Rochdale] Free January '07 30th Matty Barlow [Oldham - Stalybridge Celtic] Loan 16th Marc Tierney [Oldham - Shrewsbury] Free 9th Sean Gregan [Leeds - Oldham] Free 4th Neal Trotman [Oldham - Halifax] Loan January '06 31st Lee Grant [Derby County - Oldham] Loan 26th Chris Killen [Oldham - Hibernian] Free 20th Adam Griffin [Oldham - Stockport] Loan So historically, we have no more than four players in or out. Fairly quiet really, considering the number of loan players we have had in the course of the last few seasons.
Diego_Sideburns
The rarely wrong Chron says: The capture of Golbourne will be probably be the final incoming transfer deal at Boundary Park, unless anybody leaves. Despite continued speculation about the futures of Chris Taylor and Hughes, they both remain Athletic players. Athletic have already confirmed they have received enquiries for Taylor but nobody has, as yet, made a bid which meets their valuation of the 22-year-old. Wolves shelved their interest last week when they signed winger Kyel Reid on loan from West Ham for the remainder of the season. But there is still reported interest from Premier League side Hull City and Championship clubs Sheffield United and Reading.

Amazing to think that in just over a year we went from loaning Trotman to Halifax to selling him to Preston for 500k
