Who is the defender? - The Chron

Recommended Posts

A stab in the dark. Ian Breckin's contract with Nottingham Forest is due to end in the summer of 2009, however on 18th December 2008, it was revealed that he had been transfer listed by the club.

Age 33, available.

Centre halfs from Forest are ace. There was Thom, Thompson...

Depends who it is and how fit they are. Can only see them being cover anyway.

hmmmmmmm

if eardley leaves then lomax goes to right back....will have to be more than cover me thinks....kieran lee doesnt really look like a tough tackling no nonsense left back does he.

yeah but 33!!! look at greegs, turning circle of the qe2,done for pace a few times this season....can we really afford another old timer in defence???

Depends, although a crock - Swailes was quality, as was Ian Snodin. Pace isn't the be all and end all and Greegs was back to his best on Sunday imo. Four very dangerous strikers for Carlisle and non of 'em got a real sniff. (Graham, Dobie, Bridges and Hackney)

Breckin though is a big donkey, we've made a real mug of him at BP on many an occasion for Forest and Chesterfield.

Not keen myself but Forest did have 27 clean sheets with him at centre half last season.

Perhaps the forwards Chris Porter????? triple cough.

Yeah but if the pinnacle of their ambition was the two performances against us, you can see why. They were a very defensive team and bore their way to promotion. A bit like West Ham in '91! Still 27 CS is a magnificent achievement, how many did he play in? *

*According to Soccer base 14 of them. Not bad, spent a fair chunk of last season out injured and not played in that many this.
