No width at all, Taylor was missing again and Whitaker came central far too often.

Niether player contributed enough defensively, which led to Eardley and Lomax being permanently on the back foot.

Neal dealt with the situation well, Kelvin did not.

Byfield held the ball up well, and whilst he did not win every ball lumped up towards him he constantly put defenders under pressue by closing them down quickly.

Poor overall support from midfield left the front two isolated with limited options.

Hughes seemed elsewhere today, distinct contrast to Davies who looked fully pumped up and eager to impress when he came on. Byfield was unlucky to be subbed.

Great strike by Allott.

Fleming played his part again, and were it not for he, Gregan and Hazell we would have left Yorkshire with nothing.

Did anyone hear about a terrorist threat? Seemed a hell of a lot of Police about.

Double time lads?

I think Whitaker was intended to strengthen the central midfield at the expense of wide play. It made sense after Hudds pressured our midfield at BP. It didn't work though. Taylor's recent performances suggest he's been told he's being sold. Pure speculation on my part there though.

Agreed, although Taylor was invariably outnumber 3 to 1 when he got the ball. What the hell do our "spare" players do when this happens? Lomax looked like a rabbit in the headlights and never anticipated the bounce of the ball all game. Who's coaching him? Adequate player who won't go any further in the game unless somebody can get hold of him during the week.

Byfield should have come off 10 minutes earlier. Again. Not because he was playing badly but he was knackered. When is this guy ever going to be fit enough to play 90 minutes? Class without fitness = don't sign him.

Reading some of the comments on here remind me of the tossers on the Leeds' boards who think they have the right to win a match by virtue of being Leeds. Fact is, Huddersfield away and getting a point is a good result. 5th in the table with 42 points on the board with half the season to go is good. Some people want to get rid of Shez even with our current league position. We won't win the league and we'll do well to get second but I would have taken a playoff finish at the start and then it's about winning those three games and with our form against the top teams in the division, I'd fancy our chances.

Teams are finding it hard to beat us and when we find our goalscoring edge, we'll start winning games in abundance. I'm already touting for 9 points out of the next 3 games.

Thought Byfields hold up play was superb, just no support offered to him. Thought Eardley defended well against a tricky customer, and managed to play some decent balls.

Agree with the Shez point, surely when your under the cosh, you take Whits off and leave Maher and Allott to soak things up.

I thought that Byfield was gash. Also don't understand bringing Liddle on from the bench - he is not an impact player - if we needed someone on the right wing, he should have brought Smalley on. Davies caused their defence problems with his pace. Imagine the impact that a Smalley Davies double substitution would have.

Taylor has done nothing since Lomax has been on his side. Lomax doesnt get forward at all and therefore both wide men for the oppo can team up on Taylor, who tbh isnt good enough to beat 2 players. When jones played he dragged the winger so taylor had one man to get at and he occasionally beat them.

As for Andy Liddell, Id be telling him its time to retire. Why on earth would Sheridan waste a substitute by putting Liddell and Smalley on the bench when clearly only 1 will get on and it aint gonna be Smalley.

Agree with most of that to be honest, Lomax is not good enough, he doesnt seem strong enough and 9 times out of 10 gets skinned, think Hazell and greegs were superb, eardley was ok, flemming very good kept us in it at times, whitaker none existant dont think he added anything, god knows why lee was dropped, allott was average, taylor quiet again think somethings on his mind, thought Byfield did ok at holding it up but didnt get much help, Hughes looked lazy and not interested, maher looked ok keeps it ticking in midfield.

3 points vital against Hartlepool.

Agree completely Rick. We looked completely unbalanced yesterday and Smalley would have had lots more impact on a big pitch running down the line. Even with Liddell on, we looked much more of a threat. It should have been made at half time too, especially because Udders looked well flat after the break and not as dangerous as they were first half.

The more I think about yesterday, the more annoyed I feel that we didn't take all 3 points. They were there for the taking and with the right side selected we'd have definitely done so.

All absolutely spot on. Tayls is a shadow of the player he was earlier in the season, a lot of that has to do with Jones, who created the space taylor needed, and also made the full back thing he could get attacked on either side, rather than the innevitable cut inside where another player is waiting.... theres more to it than that though... Taylor was still double marked in the first 10 games of the season, yet he found space and beat a man, he is just bang off form, and needs a rest... or a transfer  I have actually forgotten the last time Chris set up someone else to score... someone will probably dig it out, however first and foremost he is there to create chances for the forwards... he just doesnt do that at the moment (and isnt scoring either), so os pretty pointless to the teamand a big piece of our utter lack of creativity. Id take DJ every day over him on the wing at the moment - and i'm sure so would our forwards.

As for Liddell. I couldnt belive he got on yesterday, as has been said, we were playing on the break and needed outlets... Smalley and davies could have had some fun in th last 20 mins... insted we get Liddell, just to give the hudders defence an extra rest when they were getting tired. Awful.

Bigfin, FMS and Rick...yes you Rick...agree totally.

That's two games on the bounce now where Shez's substitions have left a lot to be desired. Drawing with 15 to go v Carlisle and he brings on Lidds and Whitts. Same yesterday with Lidds. From that start he's decent but as a sub? Come on, what's he going to give us. Yes his crossing is bob on but he rarely got into positions to deliver. Surely Deano should've been thrown on to put Hudds on the back foot and give them something to worry about?

How many defences at this level would enjoy the prospect of a fresh Deano and CD with 15 mins to go?

And Taylor is a shadow of his former self because teams have cottonned on to the fact that he's our only threat so double up on him. In some cases getting three there. And he's being badly let down by his teammates who see it as job done when they give him the ball. They need to step up to the plate, earn their crust and take some of the burden off him. He can't do it all himself.

How much is down to coaching/training? Because it seems to be a persistent problem!!
