No good a Championship club coming in end of Jan with 400k and an offer he wants to accept giving us two or three days to sort a replacement out. If he wants to play for us get it signed if he dont cash him in then we have four weeks to sort out a replacement. How much of the 400k would Shez get to replace him with? Newell hoping to sort out a perm deal for JP and County have a verbal agreement with us to keep Thompson just need to find a club for Woolfy now or is he still injured?? Bristol have just paid out 750k for a striker so I doubt that they will now be in for Eardly as they seem to think thats all the budget gone. He can continue on current pay and conditions until then. The new contract offer is on the table, the club can withdraw it at any time. If another club comes in with £400K then we have to let Hughes talk to them - anything less then it's up to us. Talk of a deadline is pretty meaningless. We have said we are very keen to keep him so will probably give him as much time as possible - whilst also monitoring other situations. Without any "sources", "heard in the pub", read on facebook" etc information it wouldn't surprise me if he was here for the rest of the season, if we go up he'll look at offers from us and others, if we stay down he'd be off on a free. Would they be willing to keep Hughes knowing that he can walk on a free or would they be looking to get a fee for him this month even if its not 400k, would TTA accept a cheeky 250k if Hughes hasn't signed by end of Jan or hold out hoping he can take us up?
