We're favourites to sign Windass

Recommended Posts

Can't believe we are considering Windass. He is useless. We may as well all give in. Rather play Wolfy.

Alec do us a favour and jump in the Rochdale Canal would you. You've been unremittingly negative about everything lately and you're starting to depress me.

Hartlepool can't afford his wages apparently:

Hartlepool United have ruled themselves out of the running to sign Dean Windass after the club revealed they would accept any forthcoming offers.

Chris Turner's Hartlepool, who were first to be linked with Windass, have denied making a move for the veteran forward, suggesting there is little chance of the Hull striker joining.

The major stumbling block for any deal would revolve around the player`s wages with Hartlepool unable to meet the striker's demands. With Hartlepool not taking their interest further, Leeds United, Doncaster Rovers and Bradford City may all renew interest given the striker's current availability.

City striker Windass has revealed that Phil Brown has not spoken to him since the 5-1 defeat to Manchester City, a match that Windass feels he was made the scapegoat for. Brian Horton, Brown's Assistant Manager yesterday revealed to the 39 year old striker that they would listen to any offers during the January transfer window, prompting Windass to reconsider his already dubious future at the KC Stadium.

Windass will make at least one more appearance at the KC Stadium with a benefit match scheduled to take place at the end of the season.

FFS, people getting excited at the prospect of signing a 39 nearly 40 yr old striker.

The mind boggles!

Get your head tested sheridan and stay clear!!

The fact that they wouldn't let him come here in November because they had no cover is good enough for me...if they think he can still do a job in the premier he's more than good enough for our league.

I reckon he could be every bit as good as Hughes if not better. OK it's only short term but if he get's the goals that send us up it will have been well worth it.

Anybody who thinks he's carrying too much weight should look at his picture in the M.E.N. Like him or not you have to admire the guy's fitness and to still be playing in the premiership at 39 is even better than the legend that is Eyresy!!!!

Nah, Trundle really is fat and useless.

And Welsh. For some reason a section of our fans don't seem to like Welsh players...

Welsh?

Since when did valley boys have scouse accents?

The first part of your post is spot on though. Trundle really is a waste of an oversized footbll shirt.

My god who cares if you wouldn't invite him round for Sunday lunch hes a big, barging, dirty, clever player id snap him up!

Id want all of the above to a half arsed performance.

The reason he can still cut it is because physical presence causes defenders problems at any level regardless of age. You only have to look at Lee Hughes' performance against Everton last season as a shining example of that.

Windass to Ipswich?? Next Striker..

Ipswich next to offer Windass a way out as Phil Brown showdown looms at Hull

Windass now has Ipswich to choose from along with Oldham

Ipswich are the latest club to offer Dean Windass an escape from Hull as the striker prepares for showdown talks with manager Phil Brown on Thursday.

League One promotion hopefuls Oldham are favourites to sign Hull's 39-year-old Wembley hero, who has made just one Premier League start this season, but Hartlepool and Doncaster have also offered loan deals.

Brown and Windass are due to meet today to discuss his future after the Hull boss accepted Hartlepool boss Chris Turner's loan offer.

Any striker that likes to take defenders on has got to be better than Byfield. I'll agree the service hasn't been good but all DB seems to do is show the keeper his shirt number all afternoon.

The likes of Windass and Trundle enjoy running at goal.
