Is Byfield the key to Hughes staying or going

Recommended Posts

It's well documented that Donny want Hughes but, talk as been the amount of Transfer fee maybe more than they wish to pay. Obviously Byfield would be the ideal make weight for Donny. Sheridan keeps playin Byfield and sings his praises every week. Personally I think Byfield hasn't earned his keep and would be a poor deal for Latics. I say send Byfield back and say no thanks. Then if Donny want Hughes and he wants to go then they cough up the full money in Readies.

Before Windass signed I'd have said we could do with Byfield. But Dean should score goals, so do we need ANOTHER forward if Davies stays? I think not.

We'd only want money now...which may push Donny out of the reckoning.

Byfield would be both a waste of a wage, a waste of a shirt and would be throwing money down the drain from the Hughes transfer. It's the full amount or gtfo. I can't see why TTA or shez would even contemplate any cash + Byfield option. Surely shez would be happier looking round at a few options with money to spend than being forced into a deal for a player who has proved very little.

I think Doncaster may be looking to use him as a top up to any cash they pay for Hughes.

We won't be seeing £400k from them, that's for sure.

Byfield's a good player, showed some nice touches, won a penalty and scored a super goal at Crewe.

My concern is he looks knackered after an hour. The penalty that Orient got stemmed from a situation where his tiredness cost us possession at the other end of the pitch. I though by now he'd be fully match fit, but he was also tiring at Huddersfield.

I'd rather have Hughsey!
