It won't happen again !

Recommended Posts

How many more times do we have to hear Shez say it won't happen again?

Obviously none of the players listen to him or respect him.

Has he lost the dressing room?

Were they all out drinking the night before? Cos that was a P**s poor performance.

The worst i've seen for a few years.

At the final whistle he should have stopped them going down the tunnel and made them come over to clap the fans.

On second thoughts tho, they'd probably have ballsed that up yesterday !!!!!!!!

If shez had any bollocks he would've done what Phil Brown did, "Don't bother going down the tunnel lads, you've not earnt a break." Instead as he didn't want to upset his chums, he was first down the tunnel. Same failings Ritchie had, great player, nice guy but FAR too friendly with his players, meaning failure is inevitable. How do you bollock or get the players to take you seriously when you socialise with them? Same for you Mr. Corney?

Didnt old Ronniesaurus say that after the Tranmere game....only for us to get trounced again 4-0 at Barnsley not long after.

Fact is though its one defeat in 11 and we are still somehow despite playing :censored:e for the last few months still only 5 points behind second. Yes it was poor, yes it hurts but in the cold light of day we had a severe off day, but if ever a heavy defeat came at a time when it was needed it is best it happens now while we can begin to take stock and start again. We deserved today's horror show but it showed the weaknesses we have seen for months and Shez hasnt recognised.

Think Windy summed it up perfectly in his blog. He is used to calling managers 'gaffer'.....Shez insists on his players calling him 'Shez'. Rightly or wrongly it shouldnt be that way IMO. Buddy buddy managers have never worked.....Keegan and McTurnip the perfect examples of that.

In my opinion today's result is a crossroad for Shez. It has pointed out the glaringly obvious and if he doesnt address it then come May we will be a million miles from a play-off position let alone auto (which i think we have no chance of anyway as auto would be far to easy for Latics) and he will be a goner. I mean im sure the obvious which we can also see hasnt escaped the notice of the TTA.

Spot On

If shez needs to decide if he wants to be the Gaffer or the 1st team Coach ! To many times this season has the team been picked on jobs for the boys and not after performances. O'Grady is another example, was he given a fair crack of the whip in the team ? imo NO

How can you dress down/manage/discipline the player if only hours or days before been breaking club rules with them in a pub or club like Shez and Corney do ?

Yesterday was a farce and if the rumours are true about members of the staff staying up late on the Friday night they will come out !

Yes...Let's call him gaffer, as despite yesterdays awful result, despite the recent draws - we were 3rd in the league, hadn't been tonked by anyone in the league for many a game, which might suggest that referring to him as Shez or gaffer make no feckin' difference.

If there is a drinking culture upsetting the apple cart, then that of course is a different matter.

Times have changed in football and i doubt whether professionals will have less respect for their manager, just because they are not calling him gaffer.

As for 'jobs for the boys' i don't think any of them have let him down too much over the course of the season so far, the odd game yes. But hasn't everybody who has played?

Does anyone remember that Big Ron Manager series on sky one

Remember watching that first episode, all the players were used to calling the first team manager steve bleasdale "Bleo", atkinson comes in and says you call him manager/boss/gaffer etc, as thats what he is, not your mates.

Remember Ritchies most commonly used phrase after a tonking "I told the lads again....." agree with what has been said earlier,

Love him or hate him, if we played like that under Dowie, makes me cringe what the consequences would have been.

I think Shez is anything but far to friendly with his players .. have you not seen his LW interviews!

I have it on good authority that quite a number of the players think he's a right bastard. How long is it since these boards were berating him for constant negativity and bollocking players all the time, now he is getting them into the changing rooms so he hug them all for getting hammered. Whatever...

Yeah, and Atkinson did a great job at Posh...bumming Barry Fry to the extent that he was pretty much completely in charge, before acting surprised when they fell out of playoff contention.

Nice one, 'gaffer'.

Exactly mate! I think it`s probably the only thing we do know for sure is that Shez isnt going to be all friendly with the players! He hardly smiles even when we win.

There's a very simple theory here.

As far as football fans are concerned, if the team doesn't win 5-0 then WHATEVER the manager did/does is wrong. And that's allowed to entirely contradict whatever he did wrong last week.

Hopefully, for his own sanity, he neither knows nor cares what we're saying he's done wrong this week.
