Yard Dog
We were supposed to have 10,000 there today, the atmosphere was supposed to be akin to THAT match back in 1991, we were supposed win emphatically and all the other teams around us were supposed lose....well in my mind anyway......... Thought the whole day went as wrong as it could've done. Should have been more 'tics there to welcome Joe home. The players let us and themselves down big time again (although if only Hughes had scored rather than hit the bar !) Tranmere pretty much outplayed us from start to finish. We lost. Our season is now over. Tranmere outsang us. The pies ran out. The atmosphere in the Chaddy was poor....actually, it was really starting to get going after the start of the second half...people were standing up from left to right clapping to the chant BFJ's Barmy Army/Joe Royle's Blue & White Army and people who normally look at you as if you've got two heads when you sing were actually joining in....for once it sounded like the Chaddy were getting up for it...and the lads on the pitch were actually starting to put a few passes together and then....bang...they score...disaster and it reverted back to what is has been so many times over the last few years...a morgue. If only.... Edited March 21, 2009 by Yard Dog
