Last night at cheltenham we had both versions and I reckn the Joe Ryle version won. Mind you it was very small numbers!! I'm happy to sing both versions. From where I was sat there was an unwillinness to sing the Joe Royle version, which was drowned out by the BFJ version. Shame really - why not sing both in turn? Page 241: "During my second home League game [in charge at Ipswich] the cry went up, 'Big fat Joe's barmy army.' It's stuck and I take it as a term of endearment!" That seems pretty conclusive...
