Unlucky san!! after county thrashed bradford 5-0 last week with hughes scoring a hat-trick, a county-supporting relative took it upon himself to phone me to thank us for hughes and thompson. (hughes for obvious reasons and thompson appears to have found his form there) just thought id share Quote

boundaryblue80 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 A good centre half at this level, who had some bad luck whilst with us! Hahaha....you never cease to amaze me matey! The bad luck involved was us fans having to see him in the shirt. The guy had 1 decent performance as a sub at Everton...the rest was gash. Well...apart from keeping 10-man Southend at bay in a drab 0-0. Never seen a player ball-watch as much in my life and never seen a player cause such a calamatous goal as he did at Clyde in a friendly about 30 seconds into the game. People can suggest he's found his level...I'll suggest he's Mark Arber mark 2! Quote

But then he made 6 starts for the club, and I don't think he made more than three appearances on the run due to the injuries. Hardly grounds for writing a player's ability off. He was better off leaving Latics because it was a disasterous time for him personally. Hope his nose gets glued back on and he continues to be popular with Notts County fans. Quote

As O4U said, 6 starts, considering a minimum 2 of them he played with a broken nose/injury, i wouldn't judge him so harshly - Notts County will assemble a decent side at that level this year and if he is proven to be a 'Mark Arber2', then i'm sure they'll get rid - However I do stand by that JT is a decent centre half in these lower divisions of our league and will, barring injuries, play regularly for the 4th divisions champions elect!!
