When we played Bristol Rovers at home in season 1999/2000, does anybody know how many fans Bristol brought. They beat us 4-1 and I seem to recall them having a massive following, but the full crowd was only 5839.

I am told prozac may be able to help with such trivia.

Sorry mate, the away fans figures were not published in the programme that year. Not sure where else you would get that info from. I suppose if you emailed Bristol Rovers club secretary they might have the figure somewhere or Alan Hardy might have the numbers.

Im pretty sure there were around 3,890 gasheads there that day!!

no mate, that was the number of fans left out of the original 5,800 at half-time after we were 3-0 down within 11 minutes. The fun's gone out of supporting Latics....

I thought it was the 4-4 game when they had a biggish following (about 1,000-1,500). The RRE was shared with Latics fans.

They had that foreigner playing for them Astafjevs....until Dux broke him in two. They also had Ellington and Roberts up front for them IIRC.

Dux might have nobbled him but only after he had scored the third...

Up front they had Roberts and the little :censored: Cureton...don't think Ellington had broken through by then. Seem to remember him getting the winner for them at Derby in the FAC the day our nemesis Tony Naylor had bundled us out of the cup at Whaddon Road in Jan '02. Ellington signed for the pie-heads later that year.

Sends shivers down a grown ups spine does that. I think everytime we complain/moan/whinge of our current sides, we should post this 1 up for everyone to see - frightening

Nah, that lad Dudley is in there. He'll go places he will.

I happened to dig out the programme from that game for different reasons earlier on this week. The Rovers squad included Bobby Zamora as well as the aforementioned Roberts, Ellington and Cureton. Not the worst attack this league must have seen over the years...
