Diego_Sideburns Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 The rarely wrong Chron has a picture showing Swindon's 'Jonathan Douglas' giving Alan Hardy his autograph. http://www.oldham-chronicle.co.uk/news-fea...striker-options Quote

Diego_Sideburns Posted August 21, 2009 Author Posted August 21, 2009 Just to indicate the power of OWTB, the Chron has made one of its rare corrections by deleting the caption to the picture and putting the picture into the story about the signing of our loanee from Barsteward Rovers. Quote
futchers briefs Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 (edited) It's only the online caption that is wrong though. The 'actual' newspaper is fine - The back page shows and states a picture of Hardy signing a Blackman and inside on the next page, shows the picture and correct caption of Douglas - good journalism. Don't always believe what you read on the internet.. Edited August 21, 2009 by futchers briefs Quote

futchers briefs Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 So that's OK then - the Chron is only misleading its worldwide readership. On the odd occasion i'm sure it will......just as some posters do on this board regularly - however as I only ever 'buy' the chron I can only report - as i did - that the 'physical' copy was fine. I'm sure most of the worldwide readers would accept an odd mistake from time to time. Quote

Crusoe Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Yeah. Find it hard to get too wound up on this one. The BBC website has its fair share of gaffes and is regarded as generally okay. Besides, read Nick Davies' Flat Earth News and you can't help but sympathise for the poor sods working in regional news. Quote
