Museum de Latique Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Latics where defeated in last nights reserve league cup final at Quorn FC against Leicester City. The Quorn pitch is not quite as good as it used to be but still in decent condition. Latics included Jean Francois Christophe who scored a excellent third goal at Rhyl last week when named as a trialist. Leicester always looked brighter which is not a great surprise considering a few of the Latics team had a second away outing in two days. Leicester made a early substitution when Vitor went off injured and not long after Chambers scored through Chambers after between Lomax and McDonald. Rest of the first half was pretty even with few chances. Leicester again controlled the early second half with Ollerenshaw making a few nice saves. Latics pulled level when Chris Taylor nodded home after a corner was headed back across goal by Greegs. Shortly after Leicester where in front again through Chambers when a nice interchange in midfield left Chambers open and he gave Ollerenshaw little chance with the shot. Taylor and Christophe came off shortly afterwards. Leicester remained on top for the rest of the game. Phil McGrath went off with about 10 minutes left after he landed badly in a challenge but as Dux has used all his substititions we had to play with 10 men for the rest of the game. Overall a decent game. Taylor and Greegs are getting closer to match fitness. Worthington put in his usual "uncompromising" game. Lomax as always tries hard.....Christophe looked impressive last week at Rhyl but last night was really out of sorts. Attendance about 100. Thought there would be more Leicester supporters there. Latics: Ollerenshaw, Holdsworth, Lomax, Worthington, Gregan, McDonald, Millar, Christophe, Taylor, Crompton, Purdie Subs McGrath, Routledge, MD Carr, Highdale, Burns Leicester: Ambrusics, Lamey, Berner, John, Vitor, Parkes, Milnes, Verma, Chambers, King, Hicks Subs O'Neill, Gill, Taft, Moore, Schlupp Quote
