LaticMark Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I guessed wrong I went for Penney and Gray. How on earth does Wadsworth still get work I went for the bad Penney as well. It probably helped that Wadsworth was already at the club! In any case I quite liked old Mick! Quote

Bristolatic Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I went for penney 2 Singe, you rotten sod, I went for Penney as well. And I bet more than a few will / have. But Wadsworth? hell. Can't we play them before the New Year? Just to confirm as soon as possible what a useless he is, like. Quote

Wonder whether he'll come in for Fleming when he's fit and reconstruct the old Gretna team? Quote

singe Posted August 19, 2010 Author Posted August 19, 2010 I think in the fullnmess of time it could very well be Penney. CAn't see Wadsworth lasting that long. Quote
Lincoln Blue Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Mick "bigger b@stard than Mick Wadsworth" Wadworth strikes again. Could be in the running for the worst manager of all time. Quote

PlayItLivo Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Isn't Wadsworth a temporary measure? If Penney was to get the job there or at another team I'd hope he wouldn't get a hostile reception at BP. Whilst some of his signings were questionable he was also on the short stack with injuries. He also signed some quality players in Furman and Abbott whilst giving Stephens and Lee a break who have proved tantamount for us so far. I was in approval of givng Penney a second season, in retrospect I'm kind of glad we've got Dickov who's got us playing a completely different way. But I hope our fans can respect the fact that Penney was able to send last seasons team to Charlton and get us a draw where Dickov might send us there attacking and end up with a defeat. I like what Dickov is doing and so far (although we're only two games in) we seem to be on a good course for a higher finish, but Penney had his strengths to and with the injuries we sustained last season Penney did well to keep us from the drop. garcon Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 I'd rather have Ronnie Moore than Wadsworth any day. Quote

The only reason Stephens and Lee made the team is because of injuries otherwise they would still be in the reserves now!!!! Yes, he signed Abbott and Furman but the law of averages says he had to get a couple right, all the rest were a bloody disaster. Christ, we almost became known as Oldham nil, you say Penney had his strengths....just what were they exactly? Quote

Agree with all of that post apart from the last sentence, We shouldn't have been anywhere near and the fact that we were was beacuse of Penney's questionable signings. Like you I would've understood the reasoning for a second sesason and thought he'd get one, I wouldn't have moaned but with hindsight I'm glad he didn't. Wouldn't give him a hard time though if he were to come back Quote
